I think my hamster having wet tail... suddenly so skinny like aneroxia but still active... but it looks like zombie..

he's alone. and its late night , no vets.. and my area all useless vets.

my last female had wet tail and pregnant , bring to vet , the vet say its just miscarriage and made my hamster died...

ytd inspected him while playing with him
found his skin (under fur) seems to have like hard hard thing
probably due to scratching.
is it normal?
just cause he over groom or are there mites?

Syrians owner here.

i would like to ask,
is wheel a must for Syrian? because i found out that all the wheel in the market are so expensive. i got one small cage with wheel for one of my syrian only. another one i have to keep it in a plastic Tupperware to separate them temporarily. my fault because i did not do any research from the internet before buying. the petshop owner told me hamster can live together      any cheap or diy solution for hamster home? currently i can afford to buy a small cage but after reading through this forum, many said that bigger space is recommended for syrian. i see lots of ppl using aquarium, but wouldn't the syrian climb out of the wall?

owh no its so sad to keep hamster in a box
especially a syrian!
syrian needs big space.. 2ft plastic aquarium tanks are great for syrians
but you must buy all the accessories
wheel is important for hamsters because its in their nature that they travel and walk very far every night to find food in the wild
my wheel is from habitrail.. not very expensive
7.5" to 8" suitable for syrians.. its only RM 17 plus

dont forget to include food bowl, water bottle, a toilet (if you intend to toilet train him) and if possible a house hideout box.

why not get the type on a stand? pets wonderland has 8" ones at rm30. I used it before and it's not very loud..unless ur sleeping in the same room

what time do your hammies wake up?
mine wakes up at 12am
if i wake him up, he will be active while i play with him
but if i wake him up, play awhile and put him in the ball
he will fall asleep after 5 minutes in the ball..

why my hammy wake up so late one?

anyone manage to potty train their hamsters?
