he's alone. and its late night , no vets.. and my area all useless vets.

my last female had wet tail and pregnant , bring to vet , the vet say its just miscarriage and made my hamster died...
*
try not to give vegetable for now...change the water on the water bottle and clean the cage...n dont overfeed him..just give enough food...anyhow u still need to bring him to vet for a treatment...im not sure which area ur living...but some ppl here know a Dr who is hamster specialist...

QUOTE(blackmarket @ Jul 11 2011, 09:55 AM)
Hi guys.
Syrians owner here.

i would like to ask,
is wheel a must for Syrian? because i found out that all the wheel in the market are so expensive. i got one small cage with wheel for one of my syrian only. another one i have to keep it in a plastic Tupperware to separate them temporarily. my fault because i did not do any research from the internet before buying. the petshop owner told me hamster can live together  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  any cheap or diy solution for hamster home? currently i can afford to buy a small cage but after reading through this forum, many said that bigger space is recommended for syrian. i see lots of ppl using aquarium, but wouldn't the syrian climb out of the wall?

Thanks nod.gif
*
yea its better if they could have an 8" wheel size...aquarium is kinda expensive tho...try getting a 2 ft aquarium plastic type...much cheaper u can get below 50...try searching at pet store forum...n no they cant climb lol...i dont think pet shop know much about hamster...

owh no its so sad to keep hamster in a box
especially a syrian!
syrian needs big space.. 2ft plastic aquarium tanks are great for syrians
but you must buy all the accessories
wheel is important for hamsters because its in their nature that they travel and walk very far every night to find food in the wild
my wheel is from habitrail.. not very expensive
7.5" to 8" suitable for syrians.. its only RM 17 plus

dont forget to include food bowl, water bottle, a toilet (if you intend to toilet train him) and if possible a house hideout box. smile.gif
*
what kinda wheel cost rm17 for an 8" ? hahaha...so far i see syrian wheel is kinda expensive...haha cheapest also rm50 for big 1 with stand biggrin.gif haha
if there is a wheel 8" for rm17 i'll go n buy now biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

want to ask

what time do your hammies wake up?
mine wakes up at 12am
if i wake him up, he will be active while i play with him
but if i wake him up, play awhile and put him in the ball
he will fall asleep after 5 minutes in the ball..

why my hammy wake up so late one?
*
im not sure myself what time do they wake up...
all i know is they wake up whenever i call them biggrin.gif
and they sleep alot during day time...
and very very very active during night time biggrin.gif haha
