owh no its so sad to keep hamster in a box
especially a syrian! syrian needs big space.. 2ft plastic aquarium tanks are great for syrians but you must buy all the accessories wheel is important for hamsters because its in their nature that they travel and walk very far every night to find food in the wild my wheel is from habitrail.. not very expensive 7.5" to 8" suitable for syrians.. its only RM 17 plus dont forget to include food bowl, water bottle, a toilet (if you intend to toilet train him) and if possible a house hideout box. |

i wanted to buy silent spinner but its too small for syrians
habitrail playground wheel lor its bigger than silent wheel i stick to aquarium so its alil noisy but then if you put on bar cage i think less noisy but i not sure la cause the mechanism if it is running straight its silent only when it vibrates against my aquarium wall then noisy |

ya potty training means you train your hammy to pee in a box which is his toilet rather than in his cage so you dont have to clean it as often
i use bathing sand but i dont like it scent goes away after his first pee even if i remove it immediately after he pee and if he havent pee in the sand, the scent also will disappear quick when i bought the toilet, came with a free sample of litter that one up to a week (or more but i dispose it after a week) wont smelly i think that bathing sand is different from litter so im looking for litter |

syrian easier to train
dont use chipsi its really bad for them ler 1. they like to bring bedding around their house, it cuts their cheeks 2. if they accidentally swollow, cannot digest |

i plan to use woody pet
http://www.woodypet.com/pets.html anyone tried it before? its a big pack and its cheap for hamsters la cause its originally developed for horses many claimed that its safe for use with animals other than horse such as cats and guinea pigs anyone tried for hamsters? i use paper bedding btw. shred paper if you are willing, use papers that is not recycled cause if recycle got ink DO NOT USE NEWSPAPER many ink! if your hamster not toilet train then you might not wanna use this cause paper less absorbent alternative, if you think shreded paper might be sharp for their cheek pouch, you can use tissue either those normal tissue or the kitchen towel type but i dont wanna use cause it will melt in the cheek for normal tissue but using tissue also better than using pine or cedar bedding reason cause tissue can digest my lecturer say |

i think sand bathe more healthy for hamsters
but alex one is not a good brand i feel erm woody pet is very absorbent apprently no stinky smell if you clean once a day can replace it once every 2 weeks according to reviews but its not scented to have a nice smell either which i feel is good la, more healthy for hamster |
