Hi, I've been reading up on some posts contributed here. Fresh grad and new to personal financing and would be glad if someone could advice me on the possible 'best' way to place some of my savings in AS1M. Since I'm working from 8 to 5:30 pm everyday, how should people like me (non-bumi) go about this? Wanted to enquire within banks but some posts did mention about how branch managers do not divulge availability of units even though it is still up for grabs. Rather disheartening to know! (Seems like it's hassle for non-bumi application) Looks like it's best to just take one-day leave and try to get it sorted out within the day, even if it means going up and down banks, offices and all ;/ Yikes. Thank you all for the information. Gladly appreciate it! Added on March 1, 2012, 11:42 amAlso, what is the best way to check availability of funds available under AS1M? Is it a better option to call ASNB itself for better transparency? This post has been edited by yenforyen: Mar 1 2012, 11:42 AM

Hey aeronic, haha, well could relate to what you're saying. Lol. Transparency huh. Tsk tsk. Hmm, the thing is the ASB HQ is in Jalan Tun Razak, but my workplace is in Shah Alam area. -__- how to go up and down so often right. And since most people say it's kinda useless to apply through bank agents hmm.. I do not have an account yet. Would try to open one at Maybank. Registering for an account though Maybank is fine right? haha. If that also they don't layan, then...meh. Double whammy. What do you suggest Aeronic? Owh thank you for your responses!

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Mar 2 2012, 10:23 AM) i do not have any problem with any agent banks plus PNB has a branch in Shah Alam, u may try the with the PNB branch there To open an account not too much of a hassle right? Perhaps I'll just go to the nearest Maybank to firstly sign up for an account. Thanks though!
