I have no answer to your blurry question. However, the game does not run at 720p or 1080i/p. It is actually around 640p(IINM). |

Enabling 1080p only makes the game worst.
Its the way it is, GTAIV looks blurry because of the Quincux Anti-Aliasing its been used. Nothing you can do about it. The game looks like utter crap and thats it. Its not your PS3 not your TV, its the game. |

It isn't actually 720p (HD).
GTA4's native resolution is sub-HD (around 640p), so playing it in 1080p will make it look worse than it should look. Anyways, if you have a 1080p TV, just tick all the Display Settings la, let the game decide what resolution to play in. Native>Scaling |

QUOTE(jankazekage @ Aug 8 2009, 04:40 PM) GTA4 will be scaled no matter what you do. The 640p does, however, explain why it looks quite crappy on the PS3.IINM, the 360 version renders natively at 720p, so there is no scaling at all. AFAIK, there is no way to display the PS3 GTA4 at native resolution. Stupid Rockstar |

Leaving the graphic aside it is still playable, although I myself had experienced the frame rate dropping issue.
GTA for PC always looks better than Playstation. Just look at San Adreas for PS2 and PC. |

But don't forget how GTA4 has issues on the PC.
Also, (arguably) controller feels nicer in hand than a keyboard. |

QUOTE(faizpsp89 @ Aug 6 2009, 06:58 PM) GTA4 is native 630p but is stretched to 720p. Perhaps your TV or AVR can blow it up (aka upscale) it to 1080p. However, the PS3 will output it in 720p only. I have a 1080p display and PS3 is set to go up to 1080p, but whenever GTA4 is running, the TV receives only 1280 X 720p resolution. There are some graphical hitches, but it still plays well. |

granted, its not the best looking game, but to say its better looking in 360 is just plain crap. they look exactly the SAME.

GTA4 looks the same on both consoles, u want best quality and performance at the same time, opt for mid-to high end PC system.. But who cares, i play console games because of the game titles and their 'potato couch mode' capability... |

Yes 360 have 3 times the power of ps3..it looks soo much better in 720 and soo much smoother...
to topic starter...you've made a huge mistake buying a ps3 and also buying the game for teh ps3 instead of the 360...better go and sell them both and buy a 360. problem solved..can we now close this thread? |
