from what i read, ps3 firmware update can be done offline through usb drive.

how about game specific updates? can it be done the same manner. i am referring more to game fixes, but do mention if the same applies to DLC.

thanks for the usual prompt reply. going through the final motions before i get a ps3. wii is for family, but ps3 is all mine family can't touch muahahaha.

1. proxy download meaning u download to a pc, then transfer the file to the ps3?

2. what does IINM mean? (this section is for begginers ain't it?)

3. patches is synonym with game fixes?

4. so if patches cannot how? maybe i explain, i have internet but it only hooks up to my pc (i have no wi-fi router). so with this setup is there a way to get the patches installed to the ps3 without additional spending?

>> i explain yeah, i not at home. i am pretty mobile for now. but i am going to purchase a ps3 while i am mobile, and it will be weeks before i finally settle home to enjoy my wireless router with my ps3. but until then my setup is I have one of those usb mobile modems from maxis that hooks to your pc to get internet. with this setup is there a way my ps3 can access internet through the pc without spending anymore money. afterall this is temporary but it will be more then a month.

so, u can get patches in without internet access? how do i obtain the .pkg files? go to the game site? thanks. ignore my previous post coz i thought the only way to get patches is to go online. but it seems u don't need to from what u saying.

does anybody know if there is a shortage of ps3 malaysian unit in kl? i am from sarawak, and i have been waiting for my order for 2 weeks already but sony center here keeps delaying. the latest date the shop gave me is now 21 dec 2009. I will be going to kl next week, and hope to get a unit there instead. so i like to know if there is a shortage in kl too

how do u use deconnecxion with your ps3. i tried but cannot. coz they will present u a webpage for u to login before u get internet conenction, right? but i cannot seem to even get to that webpage from my ps3 browser.
