one of my friend actually run a boutique business too, he went to china and look at the samples itself, good quality and nice product, but when he made the payment and he received very bad quality product, some of the product he pay didnt even arrive, but korean japan and taiwan quite ok.
second,
the product you import definately need to pay tax, if you know someone inside you can get discount for your product, yes, some officer from tax custom can give u discount, if you bought in large quantity, the tax will be a huge amount for you.
