Hehe, too bad I am not your landlord.
I install a water heater in my unit and increase the rent.

Now your landlord should see the ugly wall after you left. smile.gif

if you're gentleman enough (assuming that you're a guy).. you can apply those filler paste(white cement) over those holes you've left behind before you leave..

and assuming that you've purchased those instant-water heater type.. it's easy to remove.. remove/disconnect the electrical power source, pop-out the outer casing and unscrew the anchoring screws..

you'd need a power drill to install them back at your new place.. otherwise, it'll cost you rm75-100 a pop.

well yes, you can certainly install it yourself.. given the right tools.
btw, not all the holes are standards to fit all types of water heaters.. this is the frustration you'll have to get used to it.

Water heater quite easy to remove usually it's just hanging on a metal plate screwed into the wall...

Can be summarised with 3 steps:-

1) Lift off the heater,
2) Then disconnect the wires and piping
3) Finally unscrew the mounting plate.

Just make sure you turn off the electrcity first... if you want a drill start a WTBorrow post maybe some good samaritan will pinjam you one... tongue.gif

edit: Does your new place have the bathroom wiring to hookup your heater? If don't, better to hire someone... than DIY. You can still dismantle from your old place to save on moneyflies.gif later...
