At mudah loh... where else? Lowyat also got wan but rarely ppl show photos like these.

I wonder how long the apple inside the cage. The cage super tiny. This makes me wanna do a post in my blog about it. Its sickening lah to see gliders treated like that.
*
I think they put the whole apple in, then let them eat until finish... mayb a week?

This shud be breeding pairs right? since the male got baldspot.. or they selling this pair?

Btw, go hav a look at the gliders at pets safari if anyone pass by.. there are few cages of gliders... and each cage is full of gliders.. some with pouch some without... Aiks....

No worry, i don think yueyi is blaming u though..

All of us should hav remember now, don ever suport underaged glider breeder/seller anymore.

U will see difference of those who are keen in pets keeping and those who merely wanna earn money.

And help out to spread the correct knowledge of keeping gliders.. biggrin.gif

hoho on9 i already buy... wanna find at jb lor... free shiping tongue.gif
*
Haha..although i am in KL, but everytime i also take lrt, then change bus then walk to petshack because i am staying kinda far far from the area..

But i think all the journey and efforts are worthy, at least i can assure i am getting the correct products for my babies..

Sometimes, free shipping or not is not the determinant for u to buy the products or not.. There are lot underlying factors... such as service after sale, reliability and etc.

Some countries such as Singapore strictly banned exotic animals keeping... U r not allow to smuggle in or keep or sell any exotic pets in singapore..

I think they hav an act on protecting wild animals... i believe they against exotic animal keeping is because they are belong to the wild forest and we are not able to provide the proper living environment..

Actually they hav the point, take glider as example..they hv hundred or thousand miles of forest to roam, glide and run, but we can only provide so limited space, such as 3ft, 4ft and etc.. Some even keep in hamster cage..It's against their nature..

I read an article b4, published at UK newspaper.. keeping animals esp exotic that doesnt not belong to the country, wil actually affect the natural eco system... if the owner abandon the animals, then the animal breed and give birth..

for example, m'sia don hav gliders..they are not native animals here..but if more and more owner abandon their gliders, the gliders breed and give birth, then eventually it affects our country natural animal eco balance...

And, some medical issue arises when involve exotic animals.. those who against usually believed that exotic animals carry bacteria or virus that endanger human health..

i think its hard to implement such act in malaysia..you know smuggling etc..

breeders/people bring such exotic animal and breed them here, may cause some ding dong in our country natural animal eco balance,if some of them decide abandon and freeing such exotic animal to our jungle. Those small2 exotic animal will found hard to adjust and eventually dies.

otherwise , for home pet, do it cause effect on malaysia natural eco?
*
Home pet, they memang exist in m'sia ma..

Yes, our country envronment is not suitable for some of them to survive long.

But, they will still sustain for a period of time b4 they died of starvation or etc.

Within the period, they will go hunt for food.. for example gliders will go and eat all the fruits and it affects our country fruit harvest.. then lets say snake hunt for gliders as food instead of mice..so the amount of mice getting higher... and affects human..

Or the gliders will go and eat small bird or bird eggs...

This is how it affects the natural ego balance..

and we can't blame singapore for not letting their citizen to adopt some exotic animals..The do what they think is best for their citizen and to preserve the natural habitat.

In Malaysia, if some of the local breeder still neglecting the common aspect of breeding exotic animal and keep abusing them, it might come one day our govt will stop and not allowing us to kept them as a pet.

more or less its depend on our atitude
*
That is why we nid to work hard lo. Spread more correct knowledge. Everyone of us can contribute little on this matter.

Huh..finally i am back... from a short vacation..

So many pages... T-T.. luckily i did read up some when dropped by at starbucks last 2 days..

Farid, currently u cant get any Bugsy products at any petshop yet. Bugsy is belongs to petshack.

As i mentioned 1000times b4, it's very important to get a RELIABLE and REPUTABLE seller, esp supplement seller. This is because a lot supplements such as gliderade, hpw and etc. are repackaged. It doesnt come in small small packet like tat.. Is the seller get in bulk, then repackaged it.

That is why get from good seller is important. A bad seller can simply throw other powder in or mix ur hpw diet in wrong measurement!

BUGSY is the only brand that i trusted now, they gave me the confidence about their product and brand. Oh ya, let me tell u, even bee pollen in the hpw may be varied according to brand/seller...some mayb from china, some australia...

For me, i pick supplements strictly. I don buy something jus becoz it's very cheap or free shipping or etc. Study bout the products pro and cons, study bout the seller, then only u make ur decision.

Feeding multivitamins? did u ask the salesperson WHY shud u feed ur glider? WHAT is inside the multivitamin? and mst importantly, is the seller UNDERSTAND glider?

If the seller don even know what is glider, don even know what is underaged glider, don even knwo what is the proper diet of glider, all the products/things that he promoting is not concrete..Because he himself also not 100% whether is the product applicable on gliders or not..

I gave my suggie solid food + HPW in the morn (just like a snack cause I dont want her to go hungry when Im away for class) and at night fruits that ive blended.
NOW I feel like changing it and give her staple food for the morn (i saw one at petshack - Premium Glider Diet 8oz, betul kan staple food?) and at night blended fruits/vege + HPW but looking at both (Premium Glider Diet  + HPW) , Im scared that the protein level will be too high.  (Or is it ok?)
The reason I want to give her staple food is because in the morn i only cut a few cubes then when nak simpan the fruit, it will change color n not fresh. So is it ok if I change it?
*
No worry, u can use premium glider diet at morning. they wont eat much, usually they sleep only.. biggrin.gif

Yes, premium glider diet is staple food for sugar gliders. biggrin.gif

How long did u keep ur glider already?

Some glider who never use bonding pouch before will feel insecure and frightened when they are 'locked' in the pouch...

Again, i hav to highlight this.. crabbing and biting is a very common ways of gliders (tamed, bonded or unbonded) to deliver their feelings and emotions.

Jus like human, when we were baby, we cries whole day long becoz we scare or we hungry or etc. But, even now we are adult, we will still cry if experiences something bad.

Gliders are differs from human, we cant communicate using language becoz we use different language. So, try to put urself into ur glider's shoe, understand and approach his/her feelings.

If she is still not familiar with u that's why she is scare, then give her more time and patience to slowly accept u.

If she is very familiar with u, then figure out what is the main reason or underlying hidden factors that make her so scare... could it be other pets? perfume smell? u jus change shower cream? u change ur shampoo smell? u change ur washing detergent brand???

Every small small fine thing could be the reason... go trace it and understand ur glider more.

No worry. biggrin.gif

Every glider has their very own distinctive characteristics.. And this is the most challenging and interesting part of keeping glider...

Almost everyone can tame their glider, and most of them bonded with their glider..but not all of them 'understand' their glider fully... biggrin.gif

Keep it up~

Ops..this forum again...i heard and seen lot nonsense thing in this forum b4 d..

Btw, longan lychee is very high in phosphorus too..

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Aug 10 2009, 11:04 AM)
It's the same trend in the US. There is a company in US called Pocket Pets, they have their own website and quidelines for sugar glider care, sell their joeys while underage and worst is they buy cheap pellets that are meant for rats, then repackage with their brand and call it glider chow, sell it more expensive to gain profit. This is happening in the US so it will happen here and I guess it is starting already. All greedy people who want sales.

Memang got alot of misleading communities coz they do not understand what to feed. I remember someone told me in Chinese forum got some people feed their gliders KFC coleslaw.... that wan lagi lah crazy. Then there is a local brand of hamster food that is repackaging fake koko crunch, fake honey stars and put it as hamster treats. Some people dunno, they also buy for their gliders.
*
I knw which forum u talking bout...they feed KFC chicken and coleslaw, Daging salai, coco crunch, potato chips and etc..

The latest and craziest post in this forum i seen is someone chopped his hamster into half..

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Aug 10 2009, 11:37 AM)
Ok, edited it.

Hopefully no stupid supplier here would do it lah but then now damn angry is that they jatuh the price, make more silly people become impulse buyers. More gliders suffer.
*
someone in LYN selling for 180..

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Aug 10 2009, 11:39 AM)
let's jsut keep that topic off
lots of impulse buyer lately as well...
got tons of ppl msn me...
even my frens...
sigh...
*
Hahaha... my fren also... ask me wan more gliders or not..she said good for breeding, one time can breed 20++ joey... shocking.gif

It has become a trend... a easy way to earn money by throwing breeding pairs together in a small cage..feed worms then wait for few weeks then sell..

A lot people questioned me when i tried to educate them.. they claim that feeding fruits and catfood would be enough.. And their gliders still alive...

Yup, if u r feeding catfood and fruits probably the glider can stil live up to 1-2 years at least or longer..becoz catfood did provide certain amount of protein..

But i can assure that the glider definitely not in healthy condition..dull coat and fur, inactive, not alertive, and etc.

A lot people dono glider can live up to 15 years, and they tot 2-3 years is good enough already.. but they dono actually 2-3years is only quater of captived glider lifespan..
