QUOTE(malowie @ Aug 8 2009, 12:46 PM) yup... cuz if hamsters escape from captivity they will live in the wild and disrupt the existing cycle of ecosystem... disaster?ding dong in our natural eco system?.or being added as another healthy meals by the predators?but imagine if gliders escaped and went into our forests... and survive. then we can see wild gliders in malaysia lol... QUOTE(yueyi5730 @ Aug 8 2009, 12:54 PM) that is a high possibility coz if there so many unwanted gliders like how the flower horn fishes now which are released into rivers.remember how flower horns used to be priced?some even reach to 1000+.and they are now dump into rivers..hopefully no such pandemic is going to happen unless some greedy seller start to breeds plenty glider ..and price slowly going down..uh...unwanted gliders may become another meals for snake/tiger...cehThis post has been edited by loritanah: Aug 8 2009, 12:58 PM |

QUOTE(yueyi5730 @ Aug 8 2009, 01:07 PM) @loritanah and possibilities the price will drop to RM150 (male) next year.. but u see many "suppliers" are already doing that..some even selling as low as RM200 each.As you can see in some of our forumers blogs..they are breed in small cages and all in bad conditions..some even producing 20+ over babies in a week..every week got new babies..so imagine how many they have...they cant possibly tend to so many suggies and care for them at once |

i got one cases here , a pair of glider with a baby still in pouch. As i am not fully understood with any sugar glider pregnancy , hope someone cud give any 2 cents there
QUOTE Normally I gave fruits = fresh corn, apple, longan, rambutan... Orange jarang-jarang coz my Sugar Glider tak berapa suka... mungkin masam... Worm memang menjadi kegemarannya... dia makan hingga menjilat jari.. seberapa banyak pon diberi, for sure esok pagi2 tgk dah licin dimakannya... Di samping tu ade gak pallet food yang diintroduced by ex-owner of my SG... cuma nampaknya dia macam x berapa suka makan this food... my SG suka makan fruits & worm... Any suggestion on other suitable fruits @ foods? original thread at http://mforum2.cari.com.my/viewthread.php?...3&extra=&page=6 This post has been edited by loritanah: Aug 10 2009, 10:45 AM |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Aug 10 2009, 10:46 AM) Fresh corn? that should be eliminated from the diet because it is too high in phosphorus. I never feed longan coz longan, lychee, very high in chemicals and I also do not eat them myself. The person should give you a list of fruits he normally feeds daily so that we know if it is enough or not. The glider is not getting enough calcium from the diet. Mealworms, I wonder how much he gives only coz too much is bad. Pellets, I assume is cat food or dog food coz recently many suppliers and commercial breeders are selling to people in a "starter kit package" which includes a poor quality bonding pouch, Bengy rabbit/small animal spray shampoo and a container of dogfood that is labeled as glider food. That guy bought a pair of glider with the female already pregnant ( not sure already in pouch at that moment or not. QUOTE Tadi 1st time kawe nampak glider kawe dah ade baby dlm pocketnyer sebab mase bagi dia makan worm, baby dia terkeluar dr pocketnya... dah sebesar jari kelingking.... yessssssssss already ask him to throw away the pallet. Will adv the same about the mealworms This post has been edited by loritanah: Aug 10 2009, 10:59 AM |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Aug 10 2009, 11:37 AM) Ok, edited it. we all prone to make mistakes and even farid pun boleh salah beli susu Hopefully no stupid supplier here would do it lah but then now damn angry is that they jatuh the price, make more silly people become impulse buyers. More gliders suffer. but we are not intend to be one of the sugar glider super savior in Malaysia.. but hopefully there will be an awareness of this kind of unethical breeder/seller here or at least to educate sugar glider owner. cheers |

and i have a friend who keep sugar glider as a pet..only feed him with fruits and veggie..
i think he have no problem to serve suggie with those healthy and suitable fruits/veg.. but when i slowly try to introduce him with HPW...in week or two he reported to me back that his "suggie have grown bit fat and fur look very nice"... so a good diet is just nice for our suggie |

QUOTE(SugarCoatedCandy @ Aug 11 2009, 09:07 AM) Cicak? First time i hear cicak berani go nearby suggie cage. Coz Suggie will eat them the modus operandi is:that newborn cicak try to steal food while my suggie was asleep..not cover the cage since my room is quite hot during day time..only cover the roof with my t-shirt |
