QUOTE(babyvey @ Sep 29 2009, 11:23 PM) I'm not sure I should say.. I will only be spoiling that pet shop's reputation. And even if I say it out, what difference does it make? The main goal here is to make sure that it doesn't continue by spreading the word about how gliders should NOT be kept like. Is there anything anyone would like me to add to the post? Is there something else that looks wrong to you but I didn't mention? hmm.. i just wanna know where got sell suggies in kch. nth wrong with dat i guess? i got friends back home who are interested. where did u get urs from? i'll catch up with u tmr. gtg cause i still have to work tmr morning~ nites! QUOTE(babyvey @ Sep 30 2009, 12:05 AM) After all I've written about the pet shop, you still want to recommend it to your friends? :\ Well, the fact is.. I rescued my Baby Girl from a famous pet store in PJ just like the one you described about 2 years back and she turned out to be a fine young lady, no? I believe a lot of us bought from pet shops like that because let's face it, most of the pet shops ARE like that. The only one Pet Shop that treats Suggies the right way, so far I only encountered one - Pet Shack, which is in West M'sia. Unless you have a better suggestion of where to adopt a sugar glider in KCH? That's why I'm asking you where you adopted yours from.

QUOTE(babyvey @ Sep 30 2009, 07:55 AM) Well, because I don't want to support the pet shops here, I've chosen to spend a little bit more money and time and import my sugar glider from KL. I'm getting my baby from Jitshiong. How do you fly him back? How's the procedure like? I don't think MAS/AA would let you carry him in your bonding pouch. Another question, does KCH have vets for sugar gliders? As I know, it's not easy to find a vet that knows how to treat a sugar glider. Sorry if I asked too much Thanks in advance for being helpful.

QUOTE(babyvey @ Sep 30 2009, 09:08 AM) no. as far as i knw there are no vets to treat them. as for the procedure, my friends are doing it for me so i am also not quite sure. however i will be going to kl to get then personally. mas allows animals in the cargo while AA doesn't provide such service. PM me if you hv any other questions. Alright. Thanks! I'll let my friend know about it and see what she has in mind. It's kinda hard if there's no vet for suggies there. I took my sugs to Hand 'n' Paws countless times and I dunno what am I to do without them.

I saw a container of Wolfberry / Goji / Gei ji (Cantonese) / 枸杞 in my room (I take them like I take candies) and wondered if they're good for our sugar gliders like they're good for us. This is what I found after I googled it. Dried Goji Berries & Goji Juice for your Exotic Pets?
June 19, 2008 by Kimberly
Now, I know you must have heard about all the fuss about all the amazing benefits of Goji Juice and Goji berries are for you and that it is considered a “Super Fruit”!
What people don’t often realize is that what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander. Usually, if there is something that is really good and healthy for you, it probably is for your pets too…Of course, contact your vet first before giving your pet anything that is not “normal”.
Do some research first. If you have an Asian exotic animal as a pet, chances are likely that Goji berries are in their indigenous diet.
Goji berries are more scientifically known as Wolfberries or Western Snowberries. (It’s a long story that I won’t cover here as to why they are referred to as Goji now…LOL…Check it out on Wikipedia.)
Wolfberry PlantBeing that Dried Goji Berries are full of nutrients, powerful antioxidants, and 4 Polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates), they are very healthy, even for dogs, cats and birds that you may have as pets, as I have discovered through some research I’ve been doing.
People have some amazing stories of their pets being very sick and recovering with the treatment of Goji, or of pet owners that feed these berries or a juice to their pets like vitamins for prevention of illness by improving their immune systems.
Not only are these berries good by themselves, dried or made into a juice, apparently, they are also very versatile for cooking in that the dried goji berries can be used as a health alternative ingredient in many popular recipes.
How neat…I’m going to have to get me some. I bet my hedgehog would like them, and I know my dogs would. I would even try baking them into the “Everything But The Kitchen Sink Homemade Doggy Biscuits” I regularly make for them. A great addition, I bet!

I hope you enjoyed this new and inventive snack, or vitamin supplement idea for your Domestic and Exotic Pet Nutrition (and yourself…LOL) on Exotic Animal Lover! Until next time…
Live Exotically,
Kimberly Edwards Source: exoticanimallover.comI feel like adding this lovely ingredient into my suggies' diet. What do you guys think? This post has been edited by Yvaine: Sep 30 2009, 11:08 PM
