wotiyo, do you boil and sun dry your driftwood before putting in your glider's cage? if no, you should do so to kill microorganisms and mites in the wood. i once used a driftwood, sundried for 3-4 hours, next day i still found out there's tiny tiny things on the driftwood.

i juz wash and sundried the wood only....

Added on September 6, 2009, 11:47 ami got another question...yesterday i fed my SG using kiwi...

Hissing could be she feel irritate when u wipe her. A lot glider don like the owner to wipe their body.

Is that mean you only feed apple and kiwi last nite? Give and try more variety...explore your glider preference..

If you know she only like apple, and eating so much of apple doesnt really benefits them, stop giving apple first.. If not, end up she will jus pick the apple up and ignore other fruits.

sgliders can't swim. why dont u wipe her with wet wipes in the day, cos if u do it at nite, she might get cold. itchy? does she scratch herself very often? you might know that sgliders groom themselves, look like scratching and licking the body.

sifus, corrct me if i'm wrong.

I think the same question has been asked again and again. You can only clean ur glider with water when the glider stained by paint/chemical ONLY..

Don simply bath your glider jus because you feel he/she is dirty or smelly.

Is normal for them to scratch and lick when grooming as what sara said. However, it isn't normal when the glider groom themselves excessively. If you realize he/she groom too frequent, and accompany with hair dropping, then you should go for a vet check. It could be mites or other implication.

normal to see gliders gromming themselves... especially joeys...
if you are worried about the itchy problems, take your baby SG to the vet...
could be mites.. but if you keep your cage clean, no need to worry...

I do not know whether anyone of us watch today Buletin Utama @ TV3. A case happened where a Sugar Glider owner got molested by a vet when she brought the glider for consultation.

Identity of the vet remain hidden, and the information delivered in the news report stated that the vet is 52years old, indian guy, located at Taman Melawati.

I will temporary removed Dr Vellayan name from the recommended vet list in the front page. I will follow up on this case and see what should do next.

RIP for the owner's glider. He/she died at the end.
