if you're looking for a cheap cable, make sure it's less than 2m.

why need to be below 2mtr? you can also try those 3-4meter ones (which many tested to be fine), if they work then they work 100%.. there is no slightly 5% better image.. it;'s either you get the whole nice video image or you get digital artifacts.. smile.gif

For HT purposes, the sound dynamics may be affected if using generic cables for length exceeding 2 meters. I had tested Monster, Wireworld, QED and Generic side by side and its only when it gets longer that you can tell any differences, if at all. Above 10 meters, you have better get the best that money can buy tongue.gif

Are you referring to HDMI cables or other types of cables?

If u read the articles from engineers they will tell u wont get any improvement in terms of performance.. except the more expensive ones might (only might) work in greater length.. but if u ask salesmen n some fan boys they will swear to god there is a big diff.. i myself dont know the answer.. some1 suggested a blind test in one of the lowyat hdmi thread but many backed off n reluctant to join as they said they dont have to prove to any1 that their expensive purchase is better.. if u need a very well built quality hdmi cable without a crazy price then i think bluejeans or monoprice are the websites u should visit..

http://www.audioholics.com/education/cable...testing-results .. some of the more expensive brands can handle 1080p 8-bit 120Hz HDMI 4.98 Gbit/s even when the length of the hdmi cable is 16feet ... bear in mind that we dont need this capability yet .. this is just like buying a car with wings installedjust incase 1 day cars can fly and u have your wings ready..
