will be glad to join this fan club soon after i get myself a S2.1D or the R1900TIII... hmmm.. anyone has comments on the pros and cons of these two?
*
the R1900T3 would be better for slower music, and is more warm compared to the E3100 which is more of an all rounder smile.gif

QUOTE(Gurdian @ Oct 4 2005, 08:51 PM)
regarding the s4.1s, would it be better to leave the bass and treble of the unit in neutral position or not?

and would it be better to leave the winamp equaliser neutral or also alter it?

i know it's more of personal preference, but i'd like to hear the s4.1 at it's best before starting to tweak.
*
equaliser settings in winamp shud always be left to neutral to keep the 'originality' of the song

as for the s4.1 settings, i'd like to keep one or two notch above neutral for both bass and treble, but each to its own smile.gif. best you listen in neutral before u tweak according to preferance.

(switches off winamp equalizer)

thanks daijoubu. Watabout the Surround and Center of the s4.1? should i max them out or just one or two notches again?
*
no prob smile.gif. the surround and center is basically the volume controls for the surround and center speakers respectively. adjust accordingly to your preference smile.gif. if you cant hear movie dialogues clearly when you watch dvds, set the center higher. besides that, the center channel is rarely used. same goes with the surround sats. lets say you put them far from yourself, then you might want to crank it up smile.gif.

enjoy the s4.1 happy.gif

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Nov 4 2005, 10:50 AM)
Yo everyone here,

I'm planning to get myself a set of 5.1 speakers. My current crappy Altec Lansing AHS502 gonna be thrown away very soon. I already had enough of it vmad.gif... wahaha laugh.gif

I had checked around and surveyed around, most ppl seem bearing the tag "R501 MKII for SURE!" on their forehead tongue.gif. For my budget which is around RM400, I feel this R501 MKII definitely suit my choice, but well.. another fren of mine said Logitech X530 is way better than R501 MKII. Just wanna ask if anyone compared between both or perhaps go other suggestion? wink.gif
*
well depends on what you want
i reckon the x530 might be boomier when it comes to bass, but the r501 shoud be more musical, more balanced

go test both, and decide yourself smile.gif. the R501MK2 can be tested at the showroom in low yat plaza smile.gif

Yupz.. I had been to Low Yat on Monday to test out the speakers and that guy turn on the 'Fast and Furious' for me tongue.gif

Well, I feel there's something 'less' in this set of speakers.. perhaps it's the 'clarity'.. hm, guess I asked too much from a RM400 5.1 speakers? laugh.gif
*
yup you cant expect much for its price, but IIRC, its one of the most value for money 5.1 set out there at its price. but each to its own, so you should test the x530 also smile.gif

haha screw or nail, same la tongue.gif

hammer + nail

or

drill + screw

but for wall, recommend use drill and screw as safer and more secure
drill a hole, plug in those screw plugs and screw into it smile.gif

edit : then hang the speaker on the screw as you would hang on the nail

i managed a glimpse-test of these speakers. retail price shud be RM199. and they gave me quite a good impression but i wont dwell into detail because i did not have a proper listening chance. tho, what i could say is that its pretty musical. bass wise, its there, but might be lacking for those that are too used with subs smile.gif.

M3300 is really worth it. After owning it for three months, my woofer is beginning to peak. The bass has improved significantly which is a pleasant surprise.

Money well spent thumbup.gif

so does H260 pwn SONY EX-71?
what's the retail price?
*
Nope they never did a comparison of the EX71 vs H260, but they did say that the H260 is better than the Sony MDRE888, an earbud earphone.

QUOTE(praetorian @ Nov 15 2005, 04:24 PM)
when is edifier s2000 being released in M'sia officially? And any idea how much this would cost?
Looks good and hopefully it sounds good, prolly a noob question but how would this be compared to Altec Lansings MX5021? ( I had my eye on this as well)

I am reaaly interested in a high end 2.1 speaker setup then a low range - mid range ,need this hooked up to my video game consoles PS2,Xbox primarily.:-D
*
The S2000V should be below RM1k. And if compared with the MX5021, its definately better, but the lack of a subwoofer means that its bass is not as loud as the MX5021.
