steep downhills I dun free gear (like BSC there)...minor ones only (the road in front of Kelana Jaya LRT station) which I keep on the slow lane and free gear. Most of the time these drivers hog up the fast lane anyway so I just free gear and glide slowly to the next corner. Sometimes free gear also can overtake them...funny 9 9.

I rarely use the brakes actually. Used to drive all the way home from college without touching the brakes until I reached the traffic lights at my house. When I say I ride the brakes...what I meant was when braking for traffic light or sth...I free gear and brake. Dun use the gear to slow me down. So in a way it wears out the brakes a bit more but won't eat up much fuel.

bro... my mom driving wira 1.3... manual... and recently the car... engine started car will shake... then on air-cond... shake even more... scary... what problem is it? anyone here by-pass their cat-con? cantonese called "bee hive"... i dunno... i heard from my friend... by-pass it to make car more smooth... remove the stock cat-con... replace with a paip...??? need pros help... thx...

ask him like this...his aircond analog?..when he buy the hakat no compressor and condenser?..rs no compressor n condenser...all japan car got speed cut...

guys, regarding LYN sticker, who doing ah? i also want. current my car all stickers/decals have been removed.

yesterday i went to the melaka SPCA premise (wanted to adopt a puppy) but damn disheartening to see the condition of the place.
it is shabby and looks really under-funded. they are non-profit organization so it is understandable. really feel sad looking at the condition of the place. since i cant donate much to them (self also broke end of month usually), i'm planning to custom cut sticker to (hopefully) promote the SPCA. nothing spectacular la, only their website URL (SPCAmelaka.org) for the rear windscreen. so before i do that, how will our LYN sticker look like? i wan try design it to compliment each other

oh u mean down slopes ah? phew* actually it is normal in free gear for a car to roll much faster than another car engaged in gear.
that is why it can get dangerous in places like genting downhills lor. more stress on the brakes when you apply it too.
wah, so your style of driving dont use engine braking very much... your fuel consumption must be very good?

take note of your engine idling RPM (1.3 got tacho rite?). it is either your idling RPM wrong liao (too low, hence vibrate), or engine mountings are worn.
regarding cat-converter, that will not help with the problem you mentioned. removing it gives the exhaust gas better flow (YMMW), but you will damage the environment.

anyway, u can send your car for tuning/timing adjustment la
if it is carb engine then adjust the timing urself lor
if i'm you, i'd invest in a tachometer

yep, minor slopes only I free gear. Seldom use engine braking. But my FC not that good also....17cents per km no matter how slow/fast I drive. If I'm not mistaken, the others here like Killerz is getting 15 cents/km
