Got a quote from hifi shop for Onkyo TX-SR806 at RM4.3k together with XLO Refrence Power Cord(unknown what plug ) and 2pcs of BD movies.
As i also came to understand that this coming OCT will drop prices again,correct me if my mistaken.

Oct? New model coming in? If there is a surplus of stock, we might be hearing Onkyo factory sales in these few weeks just liek last yr when everyone grabbed 875 and 805 at 'insanely low' price .

Donno abt the AV Fair prices as i was not there, but Desa HT was selling the Pioneer 518S few months back during their Renovation Sales at RM699. The 818 was arnd RM1300, so the prices at AV Fair is accurate.

Desa's paper ads are damn misleading, they used high end models pics, then with an *, lists the price as "Starting from RM699".

Their current paper ad "ploy", they list a 50% reduced price in bold while the actual price is in smaller print below the pics. To get the 50% reduced price, you have to enter a lucky draw and hope to win up to 50% off.... hahahahahah

ya agreed..misleading i kena before. Cheapest price is reserved for Display Unit only. They hv to understand that price is not the only factor to consider.Service plays an important part.
