It WAS too heavy. Haha you said a bit too late. I tried 120 5reps 3 sets, then was damn sure I would fail the next set, so dropped to 110 and finished the remaining 2 sets. I'll try 115KG next week lol.

5 reps of heavy squat is enough to keep you breathing like a cow d...haha tongue.gif

QUOTE(John91 @ Mar 13 2010, 10:30 AM)
I do get hamstring and calf cramps when I don't have enough rest or when I exert too much strength after training quads. Glute ham raises would still cramp them up, I tried. So a better alternative might be warming up a bit before training and then start on hamstrings first before training quads.
*
Whenever i do single leg squat (pistol squat) the quad of the leg hanging will tend to cramp.

why? lack of strength?

Flexibility issue, if I'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(iamyuanwu @ Mar 13 2010, 06:46 PM)
Lack of strength in the hip flexors, or simply not firing... yet.
Hanging leg raise can help. Or simply doing more pistols.
*
OK! a great thank to you. i think that is the problem. as whenever i tight to doing hanging leg raise, the quad got slight cramp too.
will add knee raise in my coming routine.

mace swinging can be damn fun too, if you have a dumbell plate at home, just head to hardware shop and buy a GI pipe.
the movement can be performed as sledge hammer

For the genetic part i m not sure, may be just his reason for not enduring the burning calf feeling lol.

*
calf is kind of sturborn muscle lol. it need isolation exercise to fire it up. yeah, rope skipping is good. want to focus more on calf after i recover.

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Apr 24 2010, 12:30 AM)

To start with, I hate to see myself having such loose top, my belly and with 32 " waist (is that not fat).  Cant stand that hence, I kept saying I wanna loose my belly fat.

do you think you will looks awesome with 6abs attached on those skinny frame? all you need now is add alot of mass as you can. you will grow fat and muscle. Cut it later.

QUOTE
To be frank, I may have said this before.  I joined gym in Dec 2008, only started going regularly and carried weight in June 2009 and Sept took fat burner till Dec 2009.  Jan till March 2010 been lepaking till recently, forcing myself to go to the gym no matter how late I work until, sometimes even at 9pm.
Make the Gym training as part of your life. like daily activity. lifestyle! change your mindset!

QUOTE
Any how I still think I have to give some credit to myself, else wont think i have motivation to go workout anymore tongue.gif

1. Last time was hard to even lift 5kg at 1 side using smith machine.  compared to now 25kg.
2. Last time doing bicep curl, started at 20kg and now 43kg (if not mistaken).
3. A gym fren of mine, who used to be stronger than me was defeated by me, as he was only doing cardio and biceps.
4. Last time Cardio can only do speed 6-7, now 7 to 9 smile.gif

So I consider myself having slight improvement.  Of course, I could do better.

Self motivation is good.
but instead of compare the friend that ONLY do cardio and BICEPS curls, why dont compare with someone who know his stuff?
i assume your poundage for biceps culrs is in pound.
Keep the routine simple as Stronglift 5x5. just f***ing do it without so many excuse. AND PLEASE READ THE EBOOK la!

I totally agree with John that I need a training partner to push me.  But I am too shy to ask around seeing that everyone is soooo biggggg.

I have a lackadaisical attitude. Someday, when I am in a mood, I can do a better job and someday I just cant.  I still remember when I did bicep curl, I did not do it properly, lifted my arm also.  Someone pointed out mistake (i think he is kmaru's fren-if i am not wrong, we work in the same gym), at first, I felt embarrassed. After that now whenever I do bicep curl I manage to do it properly already.  Last time 43kg I had to lift up my arm as it was too heavy, now I can handle it quite alright.

Gym rat is well known friendly. it is the matter of you willing make friend with them or not only

So my plan would be 1, 3, 5 work out, 2, 4 swimming,
