Get a gud quality thermal paste...it should help to transfer and utilize the maximum heat dissipation

i got 3.68ghz on unlocking PHII 550BE to tri core.. but why cpu-z write as athlon II x3..??? with codename RANA...

guy any 1 have ever done this unlock to AMD X3 710 or 720BE any ideal??......

it kind of unlock the multiplier and the core then become an ultimate CPU for OC and it stated AMD enginnering sample only apply to 720BE and 710

most likely bios related... some misunderstandin between bios & d chip (cpuid) after unlockin is done.

changed my cpu cooler to CM 212 plus, now stock cloak 4 core unlock idling 39', primer95 stress test maintain 48-49', my AC freezer 64 can buang liao, mmg old school..

yeah 212 is good enough to cool down the cpu .... but soon maybe need water cooling for advance oc le...

i think that "ES" is not more than just a name.. the mobo detect that way..
actually to get the unlock multi is based on pure luck i think..
to hit reset button.. ( u can skip the 1st L3 cache unlock..no need i think) then multi unlock..but only few reported succeed...

btw u can try hitting reset at cmos with ur board.. hope it will work

damn...that is mouth watering...just hope that it won't look so lego this time~

cpu area looks very tight to me...might not fit high profile air cooler
it would look very ROG id the NB and mosfet heatsinks are in red

i am using X3 710 also ... i only can unlock 4th core but the multiplier cannot been unlock even i have try a few time reset the cmos.....here have any 1 done unlock the multiplier using gigabyte board?

every board has its shortcomin, as long as it can oc decently & not too fugly, one can't really ask for more...

taiwanese or prc i supposed? it's their mother tongue & what they speak everyday so it's expected. u'll sound funny to 'em too if u were to speak in their slang...

not so sure we really need usb3 for now, it'll come in handy for ext hdd/thumb drive (for d bandwidth it can offer), other than that, i really can't think of any device that need usb3, certainly not mouse or kb...

fyi, so far none of gigabyte can do core unlockin, thou i pretty sure they'll follow what asus, asrock & biostar do...

i think wantin unlocked multi on locked chip would be too much to ask for, iirc, only certain asrock board can do that & it doesn't work every single time.

to unlock the multi of 710 is same as to unlock multi of the athlonII x2 to opteron.. same method suggested...and there are few mobo instead of asrock can do that..ECS is one of em..
ya..bit too much.. buy BE instead

that's the reason i bought 550 instead of 710.
If 550 can unlock i get 2 xtra cores, if 710 can unlock i get one extra core but unikely to unlock the multiplier..
If using case with window, not too fugly is oso quite bad liao

overclock u can proceed to AMD oc thread.. and read the 1st page...
