Ooo....good. Then I have to reload some bullet first.

Btw, anyone has suggestion of mid-cap plantation counters?
*
Try IOI after right issue...

IJMP expandin heading for the RM 3 club

Asiatic?

HSP - this one shud track IJMp quite closely ..

IJMP - really regret selling it.
HSP - the only plantation counters in my list
Asiatic = GENP? IOI still boleh jalan?
*
Just a Hunch

GENP - there's nothing great about this counter, except if there's a rally like top line counters... my bet at least this counter will move...

Similar to SIME (after being stuck for ages around RM 5-7)

----

IOI - i think its the biggest or 2nd biggest plantation in Malaysia

Problem is with the boss, very cunning.
but have a go at IOIcorp AFTER the Right ISsue not before...

---

HSP & TSH ( i consider them small mid cap companies)

but this is the two companies they got me where i am today.

----

Finally i don't recommend buying any at the moment .. MY OPINION is wait and see ESPECIALLY AUG 09, SEPT 09, OCT 09 NOV 09, DEC09 FCPO contracts...

like i said before traditionally OCT NOV DEC FCPO price are the weakest

impressive. i fully agree with you. CPO prices are on a downtrend towards the end of the year. better wait and see.
*
It's a cylical product, BUT i suggest anyone who's interested in Plantations, be prepared to have your eyes glued on Crude OIL price and CPO price 24/7.

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Jul 24 2009, 10:51 AM)
Eh...we are not buying when FCPO is the weakest? I check your TSH already. Seems got potential to grow
*
To play TSH counter, u must be very careful because rumour being is Syndicated.. but it will move according to CPO price as well..

Another thing you need to know is Maybank previous stop is monitoring of TSH shares... i think they performed really badly (due to their stupid venture into Paper production or was it furniture?)...

No problem of right issue like IOI.

this is a story about a Gambler who turn into a Planter.. with deep pockets and a fist full of money, but as a Planter you need to have GReen Hands i.e. KLK...

so long term prospect wise, i will pick HSP.

I have no doubt HSP will grow, problem is I'm holding too little plantation counters. Just HSPlant which is just about 5% from my portfolio. Thinking to increase it to 10%-15%. So buying another counter would be wiser since HSP has quite a rally from my buy price till now
*
good for u, plantation is one counter thZt i am looking forward very much to have in my portfolio ...

should do a comparison on both TSH HSP and IJMP

i think Aug 08 both of them were trailing each other..

Tsh being the weakest

Hsp being middle

Ijmp always leading.

3 brothers with different stories to tell!

yeah, i was choosing between Thplant & Hsplant previously.

well, it would be great if that time I choose the later one. i see price appreciation in Hsplant. Thplant barely go no-where. between +-5% only

but i still tressure my Thplant la.
*
is normal Pana, according to my friend (planter) THP is a small plantation.. so any further appreciation is difficult unless CPO prices appreciates contributing to the profits of THP (but than again other plantation companies may outperform THP.)

Another Juicy Rumour, I will bet my money on HSP in the long run as well....

A major Plantation became the white knight for HapSeng (verge of bankruptcy) and leased major plots of lands from HapSeng for X numbers of years...

According to the rumour, the lease is about to expire...

HapSeng if my memory serves me well, thy use to own chunks of land and were well known to be timber merchants... times have changed i guess..

its just my 2 cents.

Let me throw a spannar into your plans, thing is the price is cheap now, why not buy more an avg down your price...

the more shares you have may offset any counters outpeforming your counter...

reason is simple:

More shares bought at cheaper price VS less shares bought at more expensive price

assumption being:

Price appreciates.

Buy HSP la. Since you have HAPSENG oso  brows.gif  brows.gif

Once upon a LONG LONG time i think back in the 70's or 80's ...

Hapseng was known as hapseng without HSP <-- this guy was born later...

Hapseng due to some venture almost made it insolvent, but the good thing is it had alot of land (back than though you own entire of Sabah - land was practically WORTHLESS except if your doing timber!)

I guess timber ran out...

One day a Major Plantation (which i shall not name) offered a helping hand (WAY back when plantation counters were only penny stock and ppl couldnt give a damn about)... But this company have very good foresight and vision.

They told HAPSeng to lease them plots of land (back than still jungle) to develop into Plantation.

------>

Fast forward to 2009

HSP was born, and the white knight made ALOT of money.

Problem is the LEASE is expiring, what do you do when the LEASE EXPIRES?

Return it to the former owner.

NO other than HAPSENG.

------>

Moral of the story...

Next time buy a land, don't lease it.

Let me confirm the rumour first ..

HOPEFULLY Hapseng won't renew the lease...

If not renew the lease also impose 9000% increase in rental.

you have a potential to become a good story teller tongue.gif

conclusion is, who would be the benefitted? Hapseng? Hsplant?
*
Hapseng as beneficiary but end beneficiary will be HSP

More likely to be HSP since they are running the Plantation Sector of things
