Its a damn good camera even though with kit lens only , and the best part its really really really nice to hold ! I wud suggest u get that or if u want LV, get the A300....dont get A230, even the shop people in bintang maju was telling its not a so good camera if u r really serious into photography.....its like more of a camera for those who r looking for good photos, but not really a dslr...happy choosing!

QUOTE(achew @ Aug 4 2009, 09:45 AM) not a professional..but i think 50mm prime is not flexible enough to cover wedding..it'd b good to have a zoom lens around....imo..if u only bring 1 camera..i'd suggest tamron 1750 2.8...if u bringing 2..maybe cz1680 + 50mm F1.4 or 2470 F2.8 if u r on ff... oooo....tamron 1750 2.8 eh? how much the price now eh for that lens? I tried shooting few events wit the kitlens, aiyoo damn inconsistent performance frm the kitty! 2 in dark, one in hall during daytime....very hard to predict the kitty performance and the picture not sharp enuf..... Thanks achew for ur comment.... ...ur photos shows u r a pro! hahahahaha

QUOTE(albnok @ Aug 4 2009, 02:27 PM) Melv: Shoot at an aperture of F8-F11 in good light (faster shutter speeds of say 1/125s) with flash, or in bright daylight. If you shoot with harsh light you will also get the appearance of sharpness. If you put the Tamron 17-50mm on the A900 you will see a dark circle around the image at all focal lengths. Owwww.....interesting!!!....how about shooting in dark conditions? is there any possible way to get a sharp picture with the aperture wide open? i tried some shots in the dark (in a club) used the built in flash, F5.6, shutter from 1/125 to 1/160 (cause lot of movement)...the pictures were ok if look at compressed size, but if pixel peep, memang out! why the dark circle? is it because its too wide for the FF?

QUOTE(shootkk @ Aug 4 2009, 02:52 PM) melv : It will have the dark circle because the lens just cannot produce a large enough image area to cover the whole of the FF sensor. That's the reason why APS-C lenses are smaller and lighter. They do not need to project as large an image area to cover an APS-C sensor. Ooooooooooooooooo............baru gua paham! Macam tu rupanya......thx so much all sifus.... Added on August 4, 2009, 3:21 pmguys the sigma 18-50 f2.8 EX DC, is it FF lens or only APS-C lens? QUOTE(Ksano @ Aug 5 2009, 09:30 AM) ya la... If I buy a700 +50mm 1.8 ... suddenly I will feel like... whooaa before this can zoom zoom (with beercan) suddenly need to zoom kaki to get the pictar but hell... even to find 2nd hand a700 kinda hard now... hurmmm... well for sure a850 is out of my budget baby beercan is good, better than kit lens actually (in term of sharpness and built), but the range constraint 35-70mm is killing the effectiveness of the lens.. if you are in a tight space, u wouldn't want to use this lens at all... + minimum focus distance was like 1meter, (unless macro mode) so what I can say is... these lens sacrifice its versatile for sharpness .. you can refer moar at dyxum website fikir fikir fikir Ya i was thinking the same thing also...the range is abit on the down side....on the APS-C wil get only like 52.5 - 105mm..... tight space shots and large group shots is gonna be a prob.....haihhhhhh........fening fening fening ......chosing the rite lens is one thing, having the money to buy is another thing .....

Guys another question, A900 crops the picture to APS-C when we put in a APS-C lens is it? Does this apply Sony lenses only or 3rd party lenses as well?
