I'm driving new Vios E which bought in year 2008. Do u all (new vios owners) notice that it is very noisy while driving? U can listen there is very obvious noise that the tyre is rubbing the road. At the beginning I thought the tyre (Dunlop SP10) was making the noise but it is not and cause me 2k to change the rims and tyres to Michelin PP2. I made this conclusion is bcoz I drive the Year 2006 Vios and Year 2008 Vios on the same road I can feel that the noise is louder for New Vios. U can listen the front tyres (fu fu fu... fong fong fong) liddat. How can I improve the silence in my car? Really annoying of tat noise.

1) Brand n price?
2) Where u did the sound proof?
3) Do Vios G n S owners experiencing the same noise?

I test drive the new Vios 3 weeks ago. The noise level is worst than my 2003 Vios.

I thought maybe is the used condition of test drive car. But I am getting to know than more ppl is complaining about this.

Toyota is starting to cut off its quality to gain more profit. This is no good, once ppl lost confident with the brand, it is very hard to rebuild it like Kia.

Do you guys feels / hear the high noise level????

Yes... tyre shop ppl said the Dunlop SP10 is not good and it is noisy. So i change to Michelin PP2. The diff is only the noise is slightly more comfortable to listen. U still can notice the noise easily. My sis Year 2006 vios v good year eagle NCT 5 also not tat noisy. So i make a conclusion is due to cheap build quality. How to overcome this problem?

if TS wans soundproof the car, then go to KL Auto to do followings;

Visit http://www.autofoam.com.my/autofoam/

Autofoam - Choose the comfort series
Soundproof - Do the roof, floorboard, fenders including booth

All of the above might set u back abt RM5k & it'll take a whole day to complete. Best visit KL Auto, speak to Desmond, tell him what u wan address then he'll adv. He's an honest guy really and all major car clubs knows him well.

Wat i wan is not total silent like continental cars but reasonable silence as i compared new vios to old vios. Not Vios to Mercedes. Haha! biggrin.gif

Added on July 21, 2009, 2:20 pmSo many sound proof materials outside... dynamat, insulflex, superlon, spmat, raamat, accumat... which one is economic n give reasonable outcome?
