Am waiting till mid of Feb, if not .. I'll go ahead and placing my order for the 13" MBPs too..

The Applestore was temporarily down last night and I was hoping that it will come back with the new MBP line up .. but .. arghh.. the only thing got updated was the Aperture 3.. damn..!

I've never used Machines before, but I don't have to wait for more than a week to get my battery either from Sapura or VRTech .. even when they need my MBP, it took them less than a week to get my MBP fixed.. went to both various times in the past 3 years

Sapura is at Sect 14, PJ .. VR Tech is at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng near Australian Embassy .. you could get their exact address from Apple website. Just bring your unit to their service centre, explain what wrong.. they'll give a quick check .. if yours is still under warranty, shouldn't be a problem at all. Anyway, VRTech just replaced my friend's MBP logicboard FOC eventhough he does not have ACPP and has been out of the warranty.. VRTech is so called Apple Gold Service Centre.

As explained by Nimrod .. the initial problem wasn't related to the graphics card at all, it was due to a faulty charging unit but since he has reported a problem with his display at the same time, his got replaced FOC.

As crayze suggestion .. probably there is someone just bought a new router and taking up the same channel as yours ... get into the router and change the channel .. up down and see .. it has been a problem for me too in my area where almost all houses surrounding me have their own wireless routers .. (and me having two .. heehee).

read macrumors.com .. and follow up the mbp updates .. as of today .. nothing .. nada .. feb 24th? don't think so .. so probably 3rd march?

Removing the battery will halve the performance .. I have not tested this myself, but according to many postings .. MB or MBP will clock-down the speed when running only via adapter.

What the best way then? Well, take the adapter off the macbook when you're not using it .. put the macbook to sleep and take the adapter off.. you need once in a while do a recalibration i.e. run the macbook on the battery till it shut off itself (going into deep sleep or something...) .. leave it for five hours .. and recharge it back to full. Best is to run it on battery at least once a day ..

I won't have my hopes high for the speed-bump .. tho' I'm still waiting for it.. every Tuesday was painful when there was no update in Apple webstore. My wife & my daughter are waiting for their first MBP ever ...

Yup .. you'll get the rebate .. I bought my early version of MBP .. it was just updated with new processor and the rebate still valid as long as you buy it through Apple webstore.

so are we expecting the new MBPs this coming tuesday????

The 13" macbook white uni-body is pretty new and I don't think Apple is going to come up with an update to it.. but knowing Apple, they can do whatever they wanted .. they've load of cash .. and surely many ppl don't mind to pay a little bit more to get the latest i3/i5/i7 processor.

Only a student ID I guess.. click on the educational store and you can find who're eligible to get the discount. The last time I used it, they didn't ask us anything.

It is up now .. 13" still on Core2Duo but 15" and 17" are upgraded to i5 & i7. Going to order the 15" then ...

Gee.. they've just refreshed the iMac .. so, you need to wait a little bit more.. MBP hasn't been refreshed for the last 8-9 months..

Its up already .. I've ordered the 15" i5, the lowest specs tho' .. expecting for Saturday delivery ..

You surely missed reading the specs .. the MBP 15" & 17" have switchable video configuration .. you could use the Intel HD for normal processing .. or switch to NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256 MB ..
