Got my new MacBook white last Thursday, now having fun fiddling with Mac OS X operation system.

I manage to use Bootcamp and install an Dell OEM version of Windows XP on my MB though. If Windows XP is asking you to activate Windows, there are *ahem* ways to make it disappear. The XP I installed is used for gaming only. So far only tried:-

Heroes of the Might and Magic V (I'm an old school gamer), graphics work superb...my only dissatisfaction is that my MB tends to get hot when I play games via XP in BootCamp, nonetheless everything works fine.

Another thing I'm trying to find on the OS X is whether it does have its own version of "Windows + R" in it. I'm an avid user of Windows XP and Windows + R is the key to almost everything I'm working on...launch Outlook, launch Firefox, search folders, etc.

Anybody know about Mac's version of "Windows + R"? Tried searching in google, but it doesn't seem to have it. Need to do some apple script to make it work...

Another thing I'd like to share is that I'm reading a lot of stuff at maclife.com...it is a pretty nice website for avid Macin-fan like us.

And do you need to keep servicing it? Can it last for at least 3 years or more?

For the game part, I test it out for you.

So far, I created a Win XP via BootCamp purely for gaming purposes only. Since my MB White is quite new, I have tried out Serious Sam 2 and Heroes of the Might and Magic V...the graphics work superb. Later, I would want to try other games like:-

1. Doom 3
2. DotA
4. Command and Conquer - Red Alert 3

I did some read up on the graphics card, I believe my MB White graphic card (9400m) is just an average one, so certain games should work fine. Boosting the RAM up to 4gb should help with burden I think.

By the way, when I'm playing 3D games such as HOMM5, my Mac seems to heat up a LOT...where the heat sensation is pretty noticeable on the keyboard, and this has never happen when I'm in Mac OS X. I tend to have this perception that when I do gaming on XP, hardware acceleration did took place, thus the heat.
