QUOTE(MinK @ Nov 24 2009, 08:57 AM) noope. not at all. provided if u have enough rams and hd space to run on, theres no degradation in performance at all. how many rams do u have btw. im in 4gb ddr3 and i even run solidworks on vmware and it runs like a breeze. Ahh..I plan to get the first spec mbp 13inch. I also plan to upgrade it to 4gb ram. So when I get a dual OS, I can do whatever a regular Windows can on a Mac like setting up an ad hoc connection etc? |

QUOTE(MinK @ Nov 24 2009, 11:39 AM) absolutely. well getting the lower end model for the 13" mid 2009 MBP seems to be a better idea if u have cheap access to buying 2 2GB ddr3 rams and 250GB hd since upgrading both will cost less than CAD$300 here (since the lower end and higher end model differs by 300CAD). however, i u dont want to go thru the hassle of having to find a better deal for 2 2gb ddr3 rams and 250 gb ram then i suggest getting the higher end model. since 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz is hardly noticable except when u run bechmark tests. then againn it all depends on what kinda user are u. if ure just gonna use ur MBP for simple tasks like surfint the web, chatting, office and whatnot. get the lower end model. I just do Uni work, edit some basic videos ( iMovie ), some photoshop work , itunes, youtubing etc. Any shops in KL that have a good deal on rams or should I just get it when I get my MBP together? I'm still contemplating to either get a MBP or Dell SXPS. It is kind of obvious that Dell has better specs but in terms of reliability the MBP is leagues ahead...hmmmm..... |

QUOTE(viper-xs @ Feb 24 2010, 06:23 PM) I'm not an Apple fanboy because if I do I would be a mac user since ages ago. Mac was engineered from ground up and not something where you just mix and match to get the almost same thing. You might get almost close but you need to remember that the piece of thing that you have right now is of engineering wonders. I am actually using my gmail. I have absolutely no idea on working on the PPTP or what. Any ideas? For example let me take you on different path. No offence to others though but a Wira/Waja with an Evo engine is still a Wira/Waja compared to Mitsubishi Evo. The car was engineered from ground up meaning everything is thought for and not just about horsepower. Yes some might boast about having 600bhp which is the same for modified Evo as well but can it sustain laps over laps in track? Maybe the engine won't break down on you but other parts were not designed to work with that kind of bhp. Bear in mind that all engineering goodies comes with a nice price tags with different type of headaches. For example not all country have Apple store or even Apple Authorised resellers etc. I was in Tunis recently for about 1 half month and on my last week there I got to know that there is one Apple first Authorised Reseller shop opening on that same week. Imagine if anything happen to my Mac then, it would be headache to get things done fast. Not only that, even if you want something for your Mac then it might be of a problem as well as I went to the shop, had a nice long chat with them and got to see what they have in store. So in short Mac is engineered from ground up. The hardware was designed with the exact OS in mind. You can always read what are the engineering wonders that they have in the Mac from Apple website and do abit of thinking there for a while. Enjoy and utilize all or most of the wonders they have Added on February 24, 2010, 5:27 pm If you have a PPTP or OpenVPN account you might try that one out although some do block PPTP as well. Another solution, if this mail is your own mail, own domain hosting kinda thing, try to use other method like SSL (different port) etc instead of normal SMTP. |

Hey guys, do you know how to share internet connection via ethernet from macbook white?
I'd like to share my macbook internet to my xbox360 via ethernet as well. So that means I'll require 2 ethernet ports but my MBW has only 1. Do I need to get a usb ---> ethernet adapter for an additional ethernet port? Or is there a specific adapter that I need to get? |
