I didn't know that Mac OS would take so much of RAM. I'm running SL on MBP 13' with 2.26 CPU and 2GB DDR3 ram.

Today I was checking the activity monitor and found out that only ~150 MB of RAM is available. I was just running Firefox, iTunes, Adium and Tweetie. Firefox would take up to 100 MB.

I should have upgrade the RAM when I order it. Now I'm in dilemma of upgrading the ram because I already have 1 GB x2 RAM. If I want to upgrade to 4 GB, I would need to remove both ram and what am I gonna do with that two unless I could trade in.

Btw, SL doesn't have 3GB ram limit as Windows 32bits yeah? biggrin.gif

firefox, even in windows, eats up a lot of RAM esp if u have plenty of plugins installed. so i don think it's just applicable to Mac OS.

now i am having 6 tabs in Firefox...consuming like 200MB smile.gif and this is windows XP

I accept the fact that FF is a Mem hogger but what I meant was I was surprised to find out the remaining ammount of memory with just a few apps running.

got my new macbook unibody, still familiarizing myself to the Mac OS
Any recommendation for protector casing for the body, pretty easy to scratch

I'm using Speck case for outer protection and Moshi palm guard for inside. Saving up more to get Moshi keyboard protector.

Hi,

Its been quite long since I'm gone from here. Recently, I bought a Mini Display port to DVI adapter to hook my MBP with the external monitor.

Now, I want to have video output to VGA monitors so I was looking for DVI-D to VGA connectors in the computers and still couldn't find one.

Do you guys think I could possibly get one from Lowyat? Or there's no such connector at all? Coz I read on Apple.com that this connector only carries single digital link. Advice me and guide me please.

You'll need the Mini Display Port to VGA convertor.

A normal DVI to VGA convertor won't work because the DVI out only carries a digital signal.

I should have bought the Mini Display to VGA in the first place. cry.gif
