Erm.. if you are not in a hurry then better wait till September for the new sleek OS. No nid to pay extra.
Actually if you buy a brand new Mac today, you are entitled to free upgrade to Snow Leopard when it launches. Anyway it's gonna be USD29 only - that's 10 times cheaper than Windows 7 Added on July 21, 2009, 1:47 pm

Hi last night i was using my macbook with my power adapter on like usual. Suddenly i realized that the end of the charger doesnt have the usual orange/green light anymore. I think it's a faulty adapter now. Anyone faced similar problems? What should i do?
Mine does have the same problem once a while, even though it's less than 6 months old. Sometimes a bad connection to the lappie is the issue. Did u trying to clean the connectors on both end? Even with the lights not lit, can you see from the OS whether it's charging?Added on July 21, 2009, 1:52 pmSome update on the Snow Leopard question.
"All users who purchased or will purchase a new qualifying Mac between 8 June 2009 and 26 December 2009 will receive a free upgrade package and pay $9.95 for shipping and handling. You must request your up-to-date upgrade within 90 days of your original purchase."
