Yeah no difference. I was a little surprised as well. But then I guess the hottest chips aren't directly connected "thermally" to the outer aluminium shell. The outer aluminium shell gets indirectly heated up via convection. The Thermapak however does a good job at cooling this outer shell which should in turn make the internals slightly cooler if the test was given more time to run and with a graphically+CPU intensive test.

I guess if I repeated this test with COD4 for an hour each I should be able to see a quantifiable difference. Speaking from having tried playing COD4 without the thermapak before, it does get scarily HOT and I don't feel like trying it again hahaha. With the thermapak it's much more bearable.

If your MB isn't doing anything intensive for 24 hours it shouldn't get hot. Thus having a thermapak or not doesn't matter.

What are doing on ur MB that you need to run it 24/7? Torrent?

If ever I need to torrent (not very often), I do it on my desktop, not my lappies. Just don't fancy the idea of leaving my MBP on 24/7/365

oh. standby? you mean sleep? I wouldn't call that leaving it on. haha. I never shut down my mac unless i'm cleaning it. Always sleep only.

well the main reason why i got it is because i game on my mac as well.

can still feel the heat... but significantly reduced.
the palm rest doesn't get that hot... it's the top left corner that gets heated up the most. and you can also feel some of the heat coming from the underneath the keyboard at the usual position you play FPS games (wasd keys). coz this area is where most of the heat is generated and where the fan and heatsink is located.
underneath the left palmrest is just the battery, whereas underneath the right palmrest is the HDD.

3) I don't know what a charging cradle is but I am usually on power supply.  Something to note is that U should calibrate your battery once a month.  I've uhm.... killed 2 batts and this current one is dying; damn.. I need to learn how to take care of my batts more

hey i dont knw if this is the correct thread to b asking abt this, but my safari often hangs. like the colorful turning thing appears and the browser will b stuck for a few seconds before resuming to load or something. im using safari 4.1. this never happened before i upgraded to safari4.
hmm will upgrading to SL help? i have the cd here with me, but just contemplating still whether or not to install it.

i would like to ask, does online apple store selling macbook unibody? because i only see macbook white, then with Polycarbonate unibody enclosure.
