No, never use anything like that. Some people said it was due to logic board problem but I'm not really sure.
I can still use the bluetooth keyboard/mouse (if they're connected). Only the built in keyboard and trackpad have this problem.  cry.gif

Instead of pure speculation by some people, aren't you better off sending it to a service provider for a checkup....?

Received a quote from Apple service center regarding my problem on keyboard/trackpad hang after getting warm. Problem with the logic board and the repair cost RM2450 (including labor charge)... (Warranty period expired)

Called Apple Care toll free and ask for help... Wow, all I can say is very very good customer service !!! Listened to my problem then told me to cool down and he'll see what he can do to help me.
Later received a call from Apple service center informing me that Apple will take care of all the cost and I don't have to pay anything. Absolutely nothing!!! Even after warranty period.

The conversation with Apple Care Hotline operator ended with him telling me that he hope I'll be a happy mac user in future. Indeed I'm very happy with Apple.

The moral of the story, get ACPP next time.... You may be lucky this time due to a widespread issue, but you may not be as lucky next time if your non-ACPP-covered MBP screws up for an isolated incident... tongue.gif

Based on total cycles, my battery health shouldn't be 28%.  But ah well.. since I'm giving up this MBP soon I don't really care.  Instead, I'm now backing up me stuff and prepping to make my purchase on the new MBP; though I don't quite like the black borders sad.gif

Giving up...? blink.gif

Can I be the lucky person to receive your ol' MBP for free...? brows.gif

he said he will ship the items in the box, but not the box.
I'll wait till I get those.
*
The box itself should be the important item sent to you, not the content of the box.... because the serial number ON THE BOX (not the serial number of your machine) is vital to match your enrollment number of your ACPP in case Apple questions the validity of your ACPP agreement aside a proof of purchase, namely a sales receipt...

Apple also did specify that any other sales receipt other than Apple Retail or Reseller will not be qualify as a proof of purchase. So it's pointless if Apple demands this and you give them an eBay purchase invoice.

i asked switch penang they don't have stock for 3.06GHz version, need to order, does anyone know where to get it instantly? 17inch preferred..
*
There's a reason why Apple called it Custom-To-Order (CTO) or Built-To-Order (BTO)... You failed english...?

Apple Online Store is the fastest way, unless resellers have it in stock from a customer-cancelled order... so you will need to call every resellers you can find, and hope you stumble upon one...

Just bought a new MBP, 15" yesterday (10 Dec 09) at Machines in 1U. I just check and the os is OS X 10.5.8 , not snow leopard as i'd expect.

Shouldn't I be getting Snow Leopard instead ?
*
Continuing from your original thread, you should be happy that you've got Leopard with an option for SL... Imagine some of your older apps are still not compatible with SL, while newer apps sometimes cost arms and legs to upgrade, you still have the option to run them on Leopard until they do...

I run Pro Tools 7.4.2 on Leopard, knowing that even Pro Tools 8 is not fully compatible with SL yet. The former runs on SL just fine, but it can be finicky sometimes, even so especially when there are PT plugin developers which are slow to adopt SL...

I have a quick question, how do I boot into OS X after installing windows? It seems that the machine boots into windows automatically. sad.gif
*
Start > Control Panel > Boot Camp Assistant > Select Mac OS X partition and Restart....

guys, make no mistake
mbp 15 and 17 is using intel chipset again
no more configuration like 9400+9600Gtm
apple somehow failed to make something impressive
*
I wouldn't blame Apple... It's becoz of the Intel-nVidia tussle if you have read it sometime back...

I would blame Apple for not putting in ATI Mobility instead... tongue.gif

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Apr 15 2010, 12:45 AM)
i think very possible the macbook will start at rm2k+ biggrin.gif

anyway isnt the geforce 330M in the lower range of GPU these days? MBP always get the midrange ones (x1600, 8600gt, 9600gt)

what a month... ipad la, iphone os 4 la, now new MBP~ MBA really need refresh now!
*
Don't be fooled by nVidia's naming scheme... According to Notebookcheck, the GT330M is basically a re-branded GT240M which is comparable to ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, so it's still pretty much mid-range. Unless you've been so engrossed with the gaming world, that the 330M performance is too minute to you...? tongue.gif

QUOTE(hapa @ Apr 15 2010, 12:52 AM)
yeap.. apple should go for at least 335M
*
That would affect power consumption, and hence misses Apple's target battery life.
