good day guys. sorry for interrupting. i just bought this model as my 1st laptop at pc fair yesterday.

when i say its my 1st laptop, what i really mean is i dont really understand all those stuff that ppl babble about when they talk about laptops/pcs. so i would like to ask something here.

ppl who use AMD say that the processor's temperature could get quite high. im just curious how high could it get, and could this high temp could really damage ur laptop? if so, should i get a cooler for my laptop?

secondly, the salesperson mention something about this laptop has two graphic card, one is on board or whatever it is bla bla bla i dont get a thing. would somebody kindly explain this to me?

U made it pretty simple compared to the salesperson hehe. Thanks. So here it means that the dedicated card will only perform if i'm running programs with high graphic details, while the rest of the time (while surfing, chatting, etc) it will just idle?

what about the heating issue?

nahh. u just bought the model with installed linux, just like me. some might go with free DOS and install windows later, or depending on which OS u prefer.

I wanna ask what is this 'VIA HD Audio Deck' thing in my system? And what is SRS exactly? Is it the audio sandbox software? And why i cant run Generals Zero Hour? a screen popped out saying 'fatal error bla bla' while loading the game. Is it a game for a more advanced system?

I fail to run F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin.

A popup screen appear saying:

Unable To Locate Component.
This application has failed to start because X3DAudio1_5.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

This is my 3rd reinstall. My current driver is HD VIA vt1708s.

Why ah? My friend use the same installer and it works fine.

oh and one more thing. Does this laptop has the hotkey function to disable the touchpad? Its quite annoying to keep accidently tap on it while typing assignments.

just install the webcam driver and it'll be fixed. driver can be found at page 46. or maybe 48.

Regarding the delayed load, i think its because of the Avira. u hav to wait till the umbrella at the tray open first before u can access any file on my computer. i hav the same prob also and i nvr know how to solve it. i dont think its about housekeeping though. anyone?

Guys. I have serious situation here.

Since i first switch on this laptop, i never bother anything bout the user account setting at the control panel. But just now, i clicked on it and created another administrator user and put up a password on every activated account. Then i see there are 2 administrators user, the one i just created, and another one i use to create the 1st one (which name cannot be changed. it is fixed as 'administrator'). Then when i restart the laptop, i cant by any way re-access the original administrator, only the new one is available to be selected.

Thus, i cant access everything in that user when im in the new particular admin acc. How can i access back the old admin? i need to print an assignment. must submit in half an hour

the only diff is k40ab is 14" and k50ab is 15" with numpad-added keyboard. otherwise, same performance. perhaps k50ab runs at lower temp due to its spacious interior compared to k40ab. but if your friend is more on-the-go type, i would say that k40ab is more mobile.
