Another K40AB owner!
Just bought it during Penang PC Fair.

K40AB - 320Gb (RM2099).
Upgraded it to max 4Gb RAM.

Nice thing about this ASUS notebook i just bought compared to Compaq is that even I bought the Linux/FreeDos version, ASUS still comes with its driver & software CDs. Really sweet...just install OS and then autorun the CDs given....Viola...up and ready to use! (Well, I did when to ASUS website to update the driver/software version)

Everything is working fine so far...though the whole bundle of softwares given in the CDs are kinda bloated (so I just installed the required stuffs and remove those like 'smartlogon' and etc).

Anyway, does any K40AB owners here knows if there is any manual (software/hardware) switching for wireless connection? I mean like Compaq, there is a button to ON/OFF the wireless connection..so does this K40AB have it?

Also, i checked my CCC, is it normal for it to show 4 types of display modes? There are 2 HD3200 and 2 HD3470 displays detected.

Thanks. Overlook the FN keys coz when I was using my Compaq V3000 I never needed to use the FN keys functions.


Another thing about the bundled softwares, there is no 'readme' or instruction for it.
I had to googled and guessed which software is for which function.

It should at least provide some description or details about each softwares bundled. Haiz..

But still the bottom line is that ASUS rocks!

Regarding your RAM questions, I dunno about Win7 but for Vista it is showing 4Gb RAM for me.

Hi guys,

I've just encountered a problem with mine.
It seems my FN(function key) is activated always. I mean its like the FN is now on caps lock. Whenever i need to type, i have to press the FN key for normal keys.

Anyone got this issue or knows how to solve it?
