I'm convinced on the k50ab and going off to Low Yatt on Tuesday to get it.. I'm using the Asus for work (office), online and mid level gaming (dota and strategy games).

But I need an official Windows license for it this due to work and going overseas next month. Can I ask you sifus which version I should get for this lappy?

1) Get XP pro
2) Get Vista HP or Bus (with the upgrade)
3) Just install windows 7 and get the full one in oct

what are the advantageous of your choice and the issue I might face with drives and the install for the K50AB?

Yes I have been reading the thread but I seem to get lost in the details. I'm an old XP user and not very up to date with the dealings with vista and I confess it has been a few years since I got a new PC (was even thinking of switching to Mac at one stage).

My main concern is with the Vista to Windows 7 upgrade especially with this laptop. I will fly out of Malaysia in a few weeks and will not be able to be here to receive the upgrade dvd and authorization code for windows 7.

I posted to see if you all had any opinion on the different options.

Just got my k50ab from evernew yesterday. Whooho...

Just installed Vista HP and all the drivers from the Asus CD except for the default VGA.

Now I'm downloading DNA B3. but before i install the driver is there anything else I need before I do this?
