Hi All,
Is it the upgrade kit come with a new license key or use back existing Vista license key? I am wondering whether I can use the same upgrade kit to install to my other pc. I have 2 Vista home premium license, but, one of them is not eligible for upgrade.
*
Well technically speaking you can use on either machine or both but will be considered illegal when you install the upgrade kit on anything other than the Vista that is entitled for the free upgrade.

Hi all..... about the register. register myself or the shop help me register ??
and how about i don hv visa/master card, how im gonna pay it ??
*
You have to register by yourself. If you don't have a credit card, get somebody who has it to pay for you first. Then you pay him/her back IF NECESSARY laugh.gif
BTW, if you have Dell or HP machine I think it's totally free.

right immediately you select folder. you will notice the Quick Launch toolbar on the taskbar.

now drag the Recycle Bin in to the Quick launch.
*

But why want to put Recycle Bin there? Want to hide it from Desktop?

once of my fren from acer telling me that, if you having free upgrade to windows 7, u just need to install base on your version it will be legal. can anyone confirm it?

mean i have vista home premium, i just need to install an home premium from any cd will do? he said he will just borrow me the cd to burn@@?
*
Legally speaking, the free upgrade kit is only for the OEM license that you register with.
Technically speaking you can use another installation disc to install but you must use your own producy key to activate the windows.
Now since anyone who is entitled for the free upgrade will get his/her own free installation disc, I think your friend is not entitled for the free upgrade.

dvd from acer can install without inserting any key@@

so consider legal not = =
*
When no product key is used, the windows will become a 30-day evaluation. Legal but for 30 days only.

Got my Acer upgrade pack yesterday and it was due to the posman cuti so didn't delivery the cd on Monday.

Anyway, i am lucky to even consider getting this free upgrade as i bought my notebook on 21st June 2009. I jes try my luck and put my date of purchase to 28th June and voila, they didnt ask for my POP. Sweet!

There is product key that came with the Acer pack and i get to tear off the sticker of the COA and paste it to my notebook. Now there is two COA lol. If u do an upgrade, u dun need the key but if u do a clean installation, then u need to use the key.

PS: Upgrade is a nightmare!
*
Huhu, you pry the sticker out? I'm afraid it'll get damaged so let it stay there.
By the way, doing upgrade also need to input product key for activation.

If only that's for your acer then it's ok since you register.

If your fren doesn't have register the free upgrade, then wan to install win 7, it's illegal.
*
Not illegal lar. If his friend owns a valid XP/Vista license he can still buy the upgrade pack. Just illegal to use the free upgrade kit only.

SGD20.21 = RM48.50 (exchange rate @ 2.4)
USD18.76 = RM65.66 (exchange rate @ 3.5)
Every country have different rate, Malaysia happen to be paying USD, weak RM makes us pay more, can't complaint.

Some more Acer user have to pay USD18.76 for it.
Dell is FREE.
I would rather save the money and get something like Dell offer instead of paying RM60+ for the not-so-eye-candy from Acer. laugh.gif

What I mean is, take a look at Acer packaging, it's nice. Dell packaging looks like they've done it in a hurry.
*
My feeling for this: Dell charged for the handling before 22/10, but somehow they decided to give them for free after 22/10. So in a hurry they get rid of those fancy packaging and change the shipping service to cut the cost. That's why many Dell user were told the tracking given before were forfeit and no more not-so-eye-candy packaging. Believe it or not. tongue.gif
