I am not sure where to post this.. My apologies to Mod's if this is not in appropriate section. Kindly move if this is a irrelevant location.

CODE
I bought a Nokia E71 phone on 12th July from [B]the Gadgets Shop at Level 1 in Lowyat Plaza[/B]. That was the first time I used my new credit card from MYB. Surprisingly, the transaction took a bilt long than usual. I didn't realize that as I was in the good mood of the new phone. Then I didn't use my card till today.

I received a call from Maybank asking if I have authorised a CC deduction of Maxis e-billing for RM 500+ or not? I don't hold a post paid line or even a maxis account.

The suspicious transaction was from a iP address from LY plaza shop which Maybank said that they will take action. I realized that the shop cashier / sales stole my CC number with CVV number and used for their own purpose. As the name on my card was my nick name and not the real name. Maybank was suspicios on this and called me to verify. Now safely I declined the transaction and bank agreed to replace my card by blocking the existing one.

I am very sure that I didn't use the credit card neither online or any other purchase than the mobile phone.

Hence please be careful with such shops in LY as some of my friends also had similar experiences.

this is a very serious accusation, if you have enough evidence, pls make a police report asap as there may be other victims that are unaware.

I might have not known this if Maybank didnt call me this morning to verify?? rclxub.gif Bank staff told me that the IP address was a transaction request from LY plaza...so I can narrow down the culprit easily with backup from Bank staff.. flex.gif

I am not sure how many of the fellow bro's suffered this with out their knowledge.

To be sure. I used this CC for the first time after I received from Bank. I generally dont do transactions online and I have not used the card after the purchase of the phone.

TS, i advise you to give a call to the company and request to speak to the boss and inform him about it. sometimes the owner or higher management not aware of this as the cashier might let the cc machine to be tempered with and each card swiped he/she will get a certain commission of it.
