I was the one who deleted all your threads.

For those of you claiming there was no warning, there was an announcement placed at the top of this forum yesterday.

The reason the majority of your threads received the axe today was because we have found that there are quite a majority of you who have decided to bundle "Free Gifts" with your console sets. Now, normally we wouldn't think twice about this but this was immediately after we started removing threads that offered "Free Games"...

Put two and two together...

Why are we doing this? Simple:
We believe that in the majority of cases where "free gifts/games" are provided, they are usually pirated games. As such we cannot condone that sort of behavior.
Thus, you, as a seller should be responsible to state what is it that you are providing free here so that we and potential buyers know that you are providing non-pirated goods.

This is in the interest of promoting a piracy free trading area here.

I will reinstate threads on appeal. But those of you that still maintained the usual "Free 10 x games" are out of luck.

Can staff/mods/admins clarify these:

1. Modded 360
2. R4 (or similar device for NDS)

Are these allowed? I can't find any other reason for modding a 360 for now other than for the purpose of piracy. Not sure about NDS's flash carts but it may be used for theme purpose, at least that's what I heard of.

yea reply pls mr.mod

we need to know

if you all do not allow us to buy or sell pirated games.
then what about MODDED.
what's MODDED FOR then?
PLAY ORIGINAL GAMES ON MODDED?
LOL -WTF?

The reason for me not mentioning other modded consoles is because they could be modded to run imported games as well, while 360 is the only one which do not serve that purpose. I do believe modding for the purpose of playing imports is allowed, unless the mod/admin/staff tells me otherwise smile.gif

yeah right , modding only means 1 thing here in malaysia , all of us know what its for.  dont cheat yourself.  deep down we all know it. but refuse to admit it in the open.

just saying that if thread with "free games" get the bin.  thread with "modded" hardware should do to. No double standards on this things. we cant fight piracy when its only convenient for us.

There are people with modded consoles but not for piracy purpose in this country I can assure you. If you are talking about XBox 360 then yes, but for other consoles that's not quite true.

QUOTE(prasys @ Jul 16 2009, 07:54 PM)
Exactly , some people do mod their consoles in order to run homebrew programs. For instance my Playstation 2 is a modified console - this allows me to run Linux on it or to play pong or even run GameBoy colour emulator to play some classic GBC games. The main reason why its modified or what-so-ever its because to allow folks to come up with homebrew applications and programs. This concept applies to iPhone as well and its known as jailbreak

That's why SONY came up with a method to prevent PS3 from being modded for the purpose of running homebrew stuff - instead they allowed folks to run Linux on it so that they can experiment with it and run their own programs in Linux ! - Smart eh
*
That's obvious piracy, first the emulator contains bios that is the property of Nintendo, secondly I don't recall any GBC games released can be loaded using an emulator. Homebrew does not carry the meaning of emulation.

Edit: Examples of recent homebrew games include DUX and Last Hope

Can I expect the selling of modded XBox 360 be allowed here? unsure.gif

If that's the case I'd feel a little disappointed, really sad.gif

Hope Private John or Kite can come here and clarify that modded 360 only serve the purpose of piracy at least at the current state, they are more familiar with this.

Seriously, we can do that if we wanted to, i.e. banning on modded consoles. Previously there's already a debate going on on whether or not wanting to do that.
But like explained by H@H@ and prasys and other forummers, modded consoles doesn't really meant playing pirated games although it's a norm. Thus we haven't reached that state of banning modded consoles yet.

And I keep repeating myself that statement holds true for consoles other than XBox360 sleep.gif
