im using quite useful if u want to see the historical chart...but u still need to do most of ure research on ure own. This software is only good for monitoring

Jstock is as good for monitoring. Anyway is a free real time info, dun expect too much.

There are various ways to set alert, it can be ranged from beginner, intermediate to professional.

(Beginner)
For example, you wish to be triggered, when AMMB rise above RM4.00, or PBBANK fall below RM9.00, or TANJONG fall below RM13.00, here is how to set the alert.



(Intermediate)
For example, you wish to be triggered, when YTL fall above 30 days average price. You need to construct a custom indicator which look like this. For more detail on how to construct a custom indicator, please refer to JStock help file.



(Professional)
For example, you wish to be triggered, when Commodity Channel Index (CCI) being triggerd. CCI indicator looks like this : CCI = ( Typical Price - SMATP ) / ( .015 X Mean Deviation )

Unfortunately, there are no easy way to construct such indicator at current JStock (1.0.4d). We are working very hard to push this feature in version 1.0.5. Hence, just stay tune for upcoming release

hey , for the historical part, the price correct ? u try to check Genting , past few years it should be $20 30 40, but it show very low :S

but u said free...but thn later will it charge?....

coz i found alot of mgs said free....but at last also charge rm0.50 or something......

i think its a great software , just had a hard time learning the indicator part only.
i am using the 1.04e version. funny i could not update to the f version
when downloading the f version it just showed 0 kb.

i cant get the portfolio section to work - when u key in the counter name, date bought, price u bought it at, remisiers cut, stamp - ok . But clicking ok button - it just doesnt do anything. cannot close the buy window until u cancel the thing.

u must set the minimum and maximum =) if u leave it empty, it will not show any value

It seem that you didn't enter the corresponding stock symbol. You need to key in Stock in drop-down box, and press enter. You will then see your selected stock in "Symbol" field. After this, pressing OK in buy dialog box shall indicate you had bought the stock successfully.

Currently, It is built on the top of Google API. As long as Google provides them free, it will always be free. Have you tested the feature? Does it work for you?

i have entered the proxy server and port, tested on the connection and the message shown that the connection is ok, but when i double clicked on the icon on the right most, it tried to download the prices but ended up showing me "network message", how to fix it?

I've used this product before but stopped using it as I got quite annoyed that everytime I upgrade the software, my saved counters are all flushed off.

Added on July 30, 2009, 9:48 amThe icon at the righ most is used to update the stock symbol database. However, it is not that reliable, due to stock server is not always up-to-date. You may try the following method if you cannot find your stock.

Go to Database-> Stock Database...-> New, input "XYZ".

Yc...would like to compliment on your great software...

I found 1 bug, tried to list Kinsteel Bhd for buy but it register its warrant instead...probably just a wrong code...

Would love to see if i can do simple charting (trend line, MA, MACD, RSI) on the history itself...and able to save the the history instead of downloading it every time-save some time for those with super slow connection..

me too facing the same problem.
seems that it can't fetch information anymore.
all counter are 0.00 and my paper lose is insane!! (100% too since all counter's price is 0.00)
hope the developer of this software can release a fix asap, i think this is due to the new cab file that needed to be downloaded starting from today.
my Mobile Jupiter Online stops working too.

Sorry for the inconvenient cause. JStock didn't handle well, when Bursa Malaysia release new market information. We will work on emergency release, to fix this problem ASAP.

hi, i downloaded the 1.04g version and ran it, there were a few problems that i noticed.
1)lots done and value by the side of the klse indicator on the top left not working
2)counters up. down, unchanged on the top right corner showing 0
3)buy and sell quantity (also the 2nd sell, 3rd sell etc) showing 0
4)volume of matched quantity is showing per unit, ie its 100 times of the usual lot

do not know if its my computer thats having the problems though...heh heh

keep up the good work! this is a very good program in my opinion

Have you click on the nice looking button called "Auto detect proxy"?

The auto detect proxy will take the proxy settings for IE, firefox is it? I click it and the proxy number that I tried before appeared. Still didn't work at workplace currently.

Still great, but need to really watch out. One example is Kianjoo, if you plot chart there is a spike at Dec 2006, when the share split. Another example is CCK May 2008.

i tried this and it works.
go to database and create new userdefined.
put the code as 6012.KL and symbol as MAXIS.
then on the real-time tab put the 6012 into your list

I encountered a problem, where I can't find my alert which I set up earlier, now every time I run the application it will alert me with SMS, but the alert setting is outdated and I need to edit it.

If I am not mistaken, alert setting shd be under "Stock Indicator Editor" tab, where all your alert setup/setting shd appear in the "Alert Indicator" table under "Stock Indicator Editor". Am I correct? Anyone can enlighten me?

Perhaps you should check the 'Rise above' and 'Fall below' columns in the first tabpage.. This will trigger the SMS alert too.

Sorry. market capitalization is not workable any more. Yahoo server doesn't provide such information.

yccheok, can the scanner do function like this:

search for stock that volume on X day is 2 or 3 times larger than the average volume for the past 6 to 7 trading day before X day during a certain interval.

What formula to use?

how come the program does not grab information from the local stock server anymore? or is this only happening to me? i would prefer the local one as the information given is more than the singapore one.

Sorry. Local one is not workable, due to legal issues. The only legal way to retrieve data from Singapore Yahoo Server.

i do believe the stock indicator scanner needs improvement, as it display a long list and i dont know what to buy...

suggestion:
1. display results that match all indicator,
2. remove duplicates. example: got 3 eoncap entries for macd up trend, rsi buy signal and cci buy signal.

What does the L.Vol represents?Does it represent the Share Volume traded in JStock or KLSE?

sory a bit slow here
after i clicked add stock and the country
when i type eg 6012, at the empty bar, it comes out when i click enter
i cant see it at the main window.
why is that so?

i using j stock quite a while and i find out that it provide free sms alert too..... but it is delay 15 min..... it is good to improve this aspect if possible..... however it is free..... thanksss anyway...

New JStock 1.0.5m had been released with the following new features and bug fixes.

+ Internationalization and localization. Currently, only Simplified Chinese is supported.

+ When the chart dialog was re-sized large enough, the yellow box could not move all the way to the right; this has been fixed.

+ A bug with highlighting the stock when the stock is already in the list has been fixed.

+ A bug with changing the table cell color when last price is 0 and causing Fall Below and Rise Above alert conditions to be triggered has been fixed.
