QUOTE(p1000 @ Jul 16 2009, 11:40 AM) Having the default ring tone issue. I have changed the nokia default ring tone in the General Profile, but still getting the default ring for certain contacts. In the individual contact profile it is pointing to a default ring tone. These default ring tone should follow the setting in the General profile right ? Somehow still getting the nokia default ring tone. Anyone is having this issue ? Using firmware v11 thanks I also having this problem. Have to manually change it.

QUOTE(blinky @ Jul 21 2009, 03:42 PM) Blu-Ray movies hey, is the format supported by ovi suite? What converter are you using? It only works if the format is avi and most of my files are rmvb. I have tried to convert to mp4 from rmvb but it can't be opened using the phone. sighh

QUOTE(blinky @ Jul 22 2009, 12:47 AM) Simple. First, download "Any Video Converter". Convert your files to the preset "MPEG-4 Mobile Phone" format. Note: for Blu-Ray movies, you have to convert the video files one by one (usually 8 of them for one movie). After the conversion, download "Free Video Joiner". Import all your converted MPEG-4 videos into Free Video Joiner and just click on the JOIN button. Ta-dah! Thanks! I have used the 'Any Video Converter' but the movie seems have been squeezed and look weird. Maybe I need to join the Free Video Joiner. I will try it. Thanks!

QUOTE(gzero @ Jul 23 2009, 01:19 AM) the nokia pc suite (not Ovi suite) has a component called video manager which converts any video files (i think) to mp4 format, it has a simple conversion interface and is optimized for n97. you will have to download it from the nokia website. Video manager in Ovi suite does not support rmvb. Added on July 23, 2009, 2:28 pmQUOTE(gzero @ Jul 23 2009, 03:54 AM) yes, but i don't think he's referring to ripping dvds/br-d though. he wanted to convert rmvb to mp4. but hey, n97 is using a real player so shouldnt rm and rmvb format be supported directly? trickle, have you tried copying your rmvb file into phone and play it directly without converting it? Yes, I want to convert rmvb to mp4, gzero. I have tried to copy rmvb file to the phone directly and play it but errors appears. Yes, sos strange that the phone has real player but can't support rmvb. Sigh Hey Blinky, I have choosen that option and it works! Thanks. The only problem I notice is the quality for the tvb series I converted from rmvb to mp4 is low (can see pixel and bit blur) where else those movies (e.g ice age) is much better. Clear. Strange. I have compared few times and result between the series and movies are the same as above. This post has been edited by trickle: Jul 23 2009, 02:28 PM

QUOTE(blinky @ Jul 23 2009, 06:04 PM) It means that your original video file is in low-res, nothing to do with the converter. Glad I could help. I guess should be. Thanks. Now I can watch movie using the phone. This post has been edited by trickle: Jul 23 2009, 11:39 PM

QUOTE(giorgene @ Aug 15 2009, 07:32 AM) Do u all have any idea Nokia Care Center can change my qwerty keyboard D-Pad? I have no idea since when my D-Pad got a brown / black stain there, maybe my finger was dirty when i typed the keypad.. Or any idea how to clear the dirty mark? Hey, I believe yours is White? I have the same issue as yours. It's not that our fingers are dirty, but it is definitely easier to get brown stain compare to others keypad (I have read this in other forums). Solution: Use wet wipes or buy 'isopropyl alcohol disinfectant' from Guardian pharmacy. Do not try to use normal soap! I have tried it and it gets worst! Then I found the above solution from forums and I tried it out. It really works! Stain still there but lighter - I guess bcoz prev I hav messed it up with soap. :S. Anyhow I can't stand the brown stains besides the lovely shining white keyboard, so what I did is to skin it (just the D-Pad). Now it looks so pretty and some ppl even thought it was part of the ori design. hehehehe... I clean the phone and keyboard with the alcohol every week and its remain shining and white. yes, you have to sacrifice time by spending sometime to take care your baby if it's White. No more issue with stains now.

QUOTE(Evrae90 @ Aug 17 2009, 11:27 PM) do tell if there's good stuff in the updates. i rarely use the qwerty to type messages. using the touch screen, more fun n to prevent keyboard from getting dirty. i believe the stains are from our fingers, our fingers do sweat and the sweat accumulates over the keyboard over time. btw is it possible to skin the whole keyboard? Yes, can skin the whole keyboard. That's what the young lady advised me to do so coz it's more worth it (cheaper to do whole compare the small section) but I still don't feel like doing it since white is cool for me. Maybe next time once I got bored of white. lol

QUOTE(giorgene @ Aug 24 2009, 08:43 AM) i can't locate any store in midvalley for skinning my keypad, been to lowyat, but one of the guy told me there is no way to just skin the D-pad.. About the isopropyl alcohol disinfectant to clear the stain on my D-pad, it doesn't work, how come? which kind of isopropyl alcohol u bought? It's a small stall at lowergrd-opposite the Auntie Anne's Pretzel. Go and check it out. Obviously the fella doesn't aware it can be skinned since mine already a proof. here, this is what I currently using to wipe my phone. I have tried nail polish remover as well before I found this solution. It removes faster compare tho this but I don't dare to use anymore, worry it will makes the colour fade.

QUOTE(giorgene @ Aug 26 2009, 07:20 AM) That's the isopropyl alcohol I applied on my N97 D-pad but still the same, it doesn't remove the stain on my D-pad.. then you should consider skinning it if the stains trouble you. I'm not sure what other solution besides this.
