Joysticks...

High End
MadCatz TE - About RM650-700

Mid Range
Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 (HRAP3) - About 300-400

Low end
I dunno.

You gotta think about current expenditure, but you can also think about long term use. For instance, getting the TE or the HRAP3 and you've got a stick to last you quite a while, and which already starts out at good build quality. Plus, they're both easy to mod.

Thanks, dark.

I gotta try using those charging special moves as counter.

Also,

Is there really a lot of difference between Sanwa Arcade Stick and the Hori Stick?

I won't mind getting either one.

By Sanwa Arcade Stick you probably mean either the MadCatz TE or the HRAP3 Sanwa Edition. Both cost quite a bit.

I would recommend. Getting the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 first. It'll set you back about 300-400 (310 was the best price found for it so far).

Then you can use it for a few months, and save up to get the Sanwa buttons anyway, which would cost maybe up to 100? Depends on what buttons you want.

So...max price is 400 + 100 = 500. Still cheaper than the TE/HRAP3Sa but same button and joystick quality.

Btw, all three sticks uses Sanwa sticks as far as I know so no difference there. Only difference are the buttons.

fremont,

I started internship, so I'm coming home late and tired.

On top of that, my college gave me another big assignment to pass up DURING internship. So I'm doing that too.

I've also got a personal issue that popped up since last Sunday so I'm not really in the mood to play games.

If I am on though, I tend to be on 10pm onwards. Might be on tonight though.

How would the league work?

^ Try the Logitech Dual Action, it looks like a PS2 gamepad.

Should be about RM60-70. smile.gif

Suggestion.

Set a time limit to getting a "round" of the league done, let's say a week.

Then in a week, you set it so people are supposed to play 3-5 people. How they arrange is up to them to work it out with their opponent.

If both players couldn't make it to the allocated time, then consider it a draw.

If only one player that agreed to the time couldn't show up, then the player that did show up gets a free win.

^ You cannot have a Hadouken and a Metsu Hadouken on screen at the same time, as far as I know.

Try it without a full super bar and see if the Metsu comes out.

I've only played Championship.

You can save the Finals matches.

Suggestion for league concerning character selection:

AFter the first (or subsequent matches), the winner of that match must stick to the character, whereas the losing person is allowed to switch.

So say...match 1:

Cammy vs Zangief. Winner, Cammy.

Now Cammy MUST use Cammy again and the Zangief player can switch if he wants...so say he switches to Blanka.

Cammy vs Blanka. Winner, Blanka.

Score is now 1-1, and now the Cammy player is allowed to switch but the Blanka isn't allowed to switch. So on and so forth until game ends.

What do you think?

^ You're jumping too close to his body.

You should be able to kick him at high head level, it should beat his SRK.

I'm not really liking this. It encourages counter-picking. The Jap system is where the guy sticks to one character for the whole league, and if he changes character, it's considered a new entry in the league (look at momochi's akuma and ryu in the point chart).
*
And?

The winner better be damn well ready to take on counter picks, don't you think?

Besides, I was just thinking I'd be bored as all hell if I played just the same characters over and over again. This way I can start out with weaker characters and move on up to my stronger ones. tongue.gif

EDIT: Blind character selection per round sounds good too.

Two characters whole season sound good actually.

Are we banning anyone? And by anyone I mean Seth.

^ My suggestion was based on arcade format play. The loser gets to "continue" and select again.

I feel like I'm the only one still going to arcades. So empty nowadays, at least for fighting games. sad.gif

Seriously, anyone banned?

I think most of the other characters, barring Seth, is fine.

Gouken's not bad, but I don't know many that have tried to play him. Alvin's played him a bit, whereas myself and mikeeeeee (in the PS3 SFIV thread) dabble with him too.

I'm not saying Seth can't die very quickly. Him dying quickly has nothing to do with his strength.

Seth has excellent space control.

For instance, Ultra = free 30% damage if opponent jumps (or does anything with recovery, anywhere on screen).

Super = even more damage if opponent jumps (or does anything with recovery, though only for about half a screen's distance).

To get out of pressure situations, he's got an SPD, a teleport, a dragon punch, Super, Ultra.

He's particularly good against those that need to get in close to deal damage and cannot cover ground quickly. His matchups are pretty lopsided.

I think we all know who I'm picking as one of the two.

I wonder if I can get away with random select as my second character. tongue.gif
