i started with 36 crickets and adding the wc that i found around my rooms i would say it is about 42 crickets.

male to females is a bout 1:5

now i have only 6.

from the 6 3 are females and 3 are males.

the only theory that i could think of why they die is because of the females have finish laying their egss. i have like hundreds of pinheads now, could say close to a thousand.

the male ususually dies of liek the females but the rate is not that great,

average death is about 4 per week.

my setup is different will post up the picture when i have the time.

to rafiqos regarding my dubias.

my dubias are dying due to inactivity from the amount of food i put in.they sit in the food bowl not coming out.

from 22 i had now i have 16 only. all are nymph and i'm not sure there is cannibalism between dubias but i do see the carcase.

since i i have all the time in the world now until january next year i decided to go herping today.

i start out here

and i found this

a blind snake. credit to rafiqos for id.

after that a simple walk across this fallen tree

and a bit more poking around i found this
user posted image
Panesthia angustipennis spadica. credit to rafiqos for the id and leetplayer for the correction of the name.

i also found this

user posted image

lycosa sp. credits to leetplayer for id.

as i was moving to a new area notice this beauty with a very large web.

user posted image
a orbweaver spider. credits to rafiqos for id.

after that i arrived at my favourite spot to find inverts.

user posted image

it's just a bunch of wood and ceiling that is put there by some construction workers about 1 year ago. i got my first LA here.

today i got another surprise.

a bunch of 3instar longimanus in a single hide. didnt take picture of the hide but got pictures of them in the deli dish.

user posted image

9 of them.me very happy man. seems like that area has a very rich invert population. there were also some spiders sp that looks like a black widow moving around but i didn't catch it out of no interest whatsoever to it.

afterward i moved on to another area but due to security reasons i'm not able to photograph this area.

i found only 1 centipede juvi.
user posted image
sad ly it died in the delidish. i dont know why.

and that is all for my herping trip today. can't herp for long periods today. too hot and me puasa. maybe after raya i will do it again. and hopefully the nest time i will be better armed.

i took all that i can see.

i think i will release the bigger juvies and keep the smaller ones.

got 9 of them. so depending on the size maybe i will release 5 of them.

and what "CAVE" are u referring to izzu? if it's the mulu cave then it is far more better place then where u crawled out from.

the only one that is pityfull here is u since u got nothing better to do(no life) and starts to disturb a perfectly nice discussion of the new scorpions that ryo just got.

so i strongly suggest u GTFO from here and leave us in peace.

today i went for a trip but not my usual trip that involve jungles since i'm now in kl.

so my trip today is about a visit to ikano but it is scorpioan related of course.

two reasons why i went there.

1st, i want to find some inspitaration for scorpion enclosures in ikea.

2nd, i want to visit pet safari and have a look for myself thier exotic pet section. not just the scorpions that they have there but also things like spaghum moss, coco fiber, jungle floor and such.

so lets start with ikea.

this is what caught my attention. a nice wood shelving unit.

user posted image

as u can see it is a wooden shelf with a light source in it. the light is warm to say the best and i can think of desert type scorpions would do well in here but have to modify and put a divider to make it into an enclosure. this thing can be wall mounted.

here is another angle of the shelf.

user posted image

u can see where to do the modification. and the price
abit pricey but we can always DIY if we want.

the next item that have been long in my mind as a storage solution for scorpions is the Gorm Shelving system.

user posted image

as u can see the unit can hold a lot of weight and it can be configured to be a fullfill any requirement such as in the picture below.

user posted image

very good value for money. this is definately high on my wish list of furnitures.

i then went top the kitchen department and found this lovely tupperware made from clear abs plastic.

user posted image

i think it would be good for medium size scorpions or even an deathstalker. it got very good locking system and even if 1 of the lock is open and u drop the tupperware the other will not come open.

the size is nice but the price is rm3.90 more then a small exo-terra breeding box.

back scorpion fans will love this tupperware.it is clear, very tall and it has a flap that opens at the top so u dont have to open the whole tupper ware.

user posted image

the only problem i can see is again the price. very pricey.

then i went to pet safari and i went into the exotic pet area. i got news that Pandinus imperator was on sale there and i wanted to see the famous beginner scorpion.there was only 1 on sale and the price was Rm85. i didn't taka a picture. but the scorp was in not a good condition.
they just put the scorpion in a guppy tank with out anything inside.

then i found a p. cavimanus(i think) but sadly not in good condition too. just see from the pic.

user posted image

poor thing.

broken chella. and the substrate was wood chip. see picture la. very hard for me to explain

user posted image

the last thing that cought my attention was a Tarantula but i dont know what sp coz i really dont know much about tarantula.

user posted image

when i look at it it is like saying"please kill me.i cant stand it anymore". i feel sad looking at all the animals at pet safari.

on a lighter side i got to know a new employee of pet safari a cute girl by the name of karyen.
i already gave her my blog address and hopefully she will contact me soon. she is an animal lover and would like to learn more about inverts.

so that is all of my trip today to the urban jungle. thank you for reading, have a nice day.
