they not using any any AVR.LCD and a speaker.
or do i need to update it ?

i already try to update it..but fail.

How to Install the Product Update:

  1. Open the firmware update .ZIP file and extract the two files (.BIN and .VER) to a
      USB drive's main directory
  2. Turn the WD TV on and connect your USB drive
  3. Use the remote control to select SETTINGS from the home screen
  4. Highlight the firmware upgrade icon, and press ENTER on the remote
  5. You will be prompted to perform the firmware upgrade. Select OK and press ENTER.
      This will restart the system
  6. After restarting, the system automatically enters firmware upgrade mode
  7. Once the update process is completed, the HD media player will restart again

i stuck at no 4,because i didnt see any firmware upgrade icon..  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

WDTV hdmi to avr,
white and red to avr,
video ?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

i thought hdmi connect projector or tv..
*
1. HDMI carries both video and audio signal.

2. Forget about the red and white cable, unplugged it, walk to your nearest bin, and throw it away.

3. WDTV will send the video and audio signal via HDMI to your 2809. Then your 2809 process the audio signal and output to your speakers. 2809 will output your video signal to your TV.

I love my WDTV so much.
Watching mkv file, the PQ so beautiful.

P/s:Can save money from buying bluray disc. tongue.gif
*
It's not the same my dear.... mkv is like a shrinked main dish and blu-ray disc is the full course meal. You don't get to enjoy the appetizer and desert (BD-Live, PIP commentary, extra features etc) and of course HD audio. But it is enough to satisfy some.

I am one of the many satisfied users of WDTV and enjoyed MKV with great satisfaction. But one thing for sure, MKV can never match the standard set by Bluray. Even those untouched m2ts or BD ISO files are quite close to BD but still not quite there yet, maybe just 85% of the BD quality. I guess you can notice it easily on 50" above full hd big screen.......
*
BD.ISO = blu-ray. It is direct 1 to 1 rip dude. Come on, don't tell me you don't know what ISO image means?
