How? Is there a simpler way to go about it? I've read from numerous blogs on the net that the conversion process of ripping, re-encoding and remuxing audio for MKV container involves a lot of steps and tools (and duh, lots and lots of command lines) ....

Nowadays there are so many players that can support downmix DTS, it is most suitable for users without AV receiver. The sound quality is good too. No need do converting anymore, hassle free.

fwd anything (be it 480, 720 or 1080) also cacat. you fwd, you can see the time moves but the picture still remains where it was, then like after 10sec, you see the picture jump to that 10 sec slot. its not like DVD, you can see the pictures zip by fast fast so you can know where to stop fwding

if you got LPCM also can hear these uncompressed audio... the amps are cheaper nowadays... I think 1k can get (HDMI, LPCM).. and 1+ - 2k range for trueHD/master audio decoding capability AV amps..

USD299 amps are a common price range.. 

WDTV, WDTV Mini & WDTV Live! , actually how to choose among them ah?
i not familiar with it. but movie in my computer has RMVb. and mpg, and AVI.

looks like WDTV is good buy since it can play real player, but i don't like it's connector which needs a converter cable.
WDTV still cannot play real, right?
WDTV live got what different with WDTV ah?

why so much hassle.. just pay RM400++ no need to convert anything....
