I've asked the CS at Maxis this question and even they can't give me a clear answer but many you peeps here might be able to help smile.gif ...

What's the difference between the Value80 plan and the iValue plans as far as the voice call commitment is concerned? My bill comes up to RM300+ every month but 80% of it is for IDD calls. What happens at the moment is that I basically paying for just the calls I make (the RM80 monthly commitment is rebated since I use more than RM80 talktime). Does it work the same way for call commitment portion of the iValue Plans? I don't mind making a bigger commitment and getting the phone cheaper but I don't want to be paying for calls that I won't be using.

The Maxis CS claims that the Value80 calls should also only cover local calls but I've been getting the rebate for more than a year now and my local calls never exceed RM30.

Hope all of that makes sense biggrin.gif .

@unioptom,

The difference between the usual VP plans and the iValue plans are that the credit available on the VP plans available for all services (ie: voice + data) whereas on the iValue plans, they're fixed.  For example, on the iValue plan, RM50 is meant for data whilst RM50 is meant for voice calls.  Since you make few local calls and international call rates are the same regardless of which plan you're on [you need to check this out cause i'm not 100% sure] the iValue plan *might* and *could* give you better value since the iPhone is heavily subsidised especially on the higher amount plans.

VP80 plans does cover International Calls; it covers all sorts of calls.  What U need to double check is if the international call rates are the same regardless of which plan you're on and if the iValue call plan allows you to make IDD calls.  If IDD calls on the iValue plan is charged separately then I suggest you better stick to the VP plan.

Heh, the Maxis CS I spoke to last time insisted that VP80 was for local calls only even though I have proof otherwise. Go figure shakehead.gif

Nevertheless, I'll try again since I need to check about the rates and whether iValue supports IDD132. Wish me luck *bg*

If you're using it on Maxis then no setting is required. Just make sure that 3G is turned on and you're good to go. If you want to keep track of the data used, make sure you reset the counter at the end of each monthly interval.
