Hi all. hope someone can help me.

i'm currently using other carrier network. i wanna get iphone, can i sign up value plus 50 (not ivalue 1 plan) and idata plan ?

if can, how much would the 32G iphone cost ?

It's clearly shown on the first page or on the Maxis website, look under iData plan.. You get rebates on the type of iData you are on, doesn't matter wat Value Plus plan you have subscribed to.

For 32GB Iphone 3GS

1. Signing up for Value Plus 50 + iData Plan = RM50 (Value Plus) + RM30 for iData (250MB), you can get the phone at retail RM2990

2. Signing up for Value Plus 50 + iData Plan = RM50 (Value Plus) + RM50 for iData (500MB), you can get the phone at RM2490 for 24 Months contract or RM2590 for 12 Months Contract..

3. Signing up for Value Plus 50 + iData Plan = RM50 (Value Plus) + RM99 for iData (3GB), you can get the phone at RM2190 for 24 Months contract or RM2490 for 12 Months Contract..

It wouldn't hurt you if you would just take like 5 minutes to read the first page? doh.gif

From the way i see it, all the free SMSes are only meant for Maxis to Maxis, it has always been that way from the promo and i doubt Maxis will be changing it anytime soon.

OT: My booking at TTDI branch for 3GS got delayed for 2 weeks... wat the hell.......

Alternative way of doing this is to get an authorization letter from the Principal Line holder with the photostat IC of the principal as well and bring it during registration. I did that back then coz my principal line was too busy to go with me.

@tinkerbel,

I've never tried it for iPhone purchase but Authorization Letter from the main principal holder (A nicely drafted letter with the owner's signature stating that the principal holder gave you the power and also with a photocopy IC of the principal holder attached) has always been around and I've used it before with Maxis for various reasons back then (My principal line was never free sleep.gif) and Maxis accepted it without any questions asked.

If my principal line is staying overseas and never to take a step back in Malaysia, so that means I can never buy an iPhone from Maxis as a supplementary line? Doesn't make sense to me.. But then again, we're in Malaysia, I might be wrong. smile.gif

@derlin,
I spoke and have asked the CS and the answer has always been cannot.  The reason as I've mentioned is because a contract needs to be signed and the contract can't be signed by YOU even if you've been authorised.

I told the Maxis fella I'm getting the iPhone on behalf of my brother who happens to be in AU but she told me it can't be done.

Man.. that kinda sucked. Oh well, guess that can't be helped then. So die die also you must drag the principal line back from wherever he/she is at, or register yourself as the principal line holder I guess.

Thanks for the confirmation and info smile.gif

you're signing for iData right? Maxis should prioritize postpaid/contract subscribers. who knows you might be getting your unit earlier than expected? smile.gif

@hapa:

it's not a new rule. even a simple transfer of supplementary line to another principal owner needs both owners to be present.

@gogo2:

we've yet to have a proper confirmation from Maxis regarding that. in my humple opinion, the prepaid outright plan has not been put off totally, it's just that since Maxis have shortage of stocks currently, priority is given to contract subscribers and the prepaid plan was temporarily put on hold.

Don't think they would prioritize anyone for this. Mine still delay for 2 weeks due to stock issue and it's only available after 18th.

And for transferring of Sub line to Main, you can make use of the authorization letter, there's no need for the principal line to be present. I did that so I'm very sure that would work. smile.gif
