I recieve a weird email from Maybank (yeah I did slot in my bank card at their machine and error occured, but that don't suppose means I'll recieve their email, right? Cuz I don't have their account at all.)

Have you report it @ Maybank?Anyway..the Fake Login Form was automatically blocked by Firefox..
At least for me..(3.5)

I tried to report now, but I can't run their website properly. Maybe network problem. Please anyone report it...

BANKS WILL NEVER E-MAIL YOU ANYTHING. IF YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL FROM THE BANK(Any Banks) REGARDING ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT. IT'S A FAKE.

well... i use to received this kind of email... and i had call maybank customer service~~ they told me that they will never send email to customer~~~ so... is fake webside~~!! just avoid it~~ friends

any urusan bank like account activation .. sure have black n white 1 .

For your information sometimes this conman very clever u know. this group will take time to react, for normal people like us may be not their target. for people get use the internet for communication and some professional people is their target. if you read the newspaper many of them are kaya man, sometimes get con almost 100 k, for us who read may think they are stupid easy to get con. but believe me, my uncle get con before, they will use many reason to convince u. if u have blog, email,facebook they will read all your information and use it to kenakan u. my uncle get call from agent for transportation claim that their parcel has been detain by custom, so to settle it must pay RM 2500 the tax and penalty for the item, and need urgent before office hour and if late for one day the cost increase for storage purpose. my uncle don't suspicious anything because his friend from oversea has inform him before want to send parcel. and for information they communicate through blog and mail. my uncle want to confirm with his friend but when look to the time it need urgent response if not need to pay more for them. And to give more confident they will give the account from our local bank. After that tomorrow they call again and claim the charges for transportation due to collect item from custom depot. so need to pay urgent and in the next day they will claim another charges. think that a lot of money have used my uncle stop paying and wait his friend massage, and my uncle shock because his friend told him that item not send yet, and realize get con he lodge a report to police.

may be u all think it easy to settle right

In the police station, my uncle said :

1. why cannot trace phone number, all phone number is register and need to show ic right - the policemen said although all the phone number need to register but many shop do not required ic to register, wonder many PATI have use handphone so how they register.

2. why cannot trace the account number - the policeman said the account sometimes open by drug addict person. this person if con man give them RM100 they will do anything, when this con man got a bank card and pin number it enough to withdraw and this thing happen usually in rural branch like bintulu, kudat etc.

3. why do not double check with local authority -- this group usually make their victim in panic and hurry and sometimes they know their victim is busy men so don't have much time to check.

police said this con man can give any charges they want although this charges seem like ridiculous but the victim still believe like terrorist fee, PBB fee and etc..so be watch out and the morale of this story is please don't expose yourself clearly and sometimes dont be greedy. and clearly police stated that money will not get back..

usually the add will starts with https instead http for the log in page

Maybank will never email you.
Remember that.
They will always send letter.

So I just playing around putting the false username & password. As expected, I can log in the page. Even asked for TAC !.



I tested further, even not entering the username & password still can access the page.

Alrready notify Maybank.

Almost every day I got email from maybank..but I know.. maybank can't send anything through email

It is advisable not to click at any link at all. If you want, i think should at least use a virtual machine and click it.

that address also can be fake, look like real address on screen but actually its goes to others email( hackers)

I'm very worried for my parents about this. Had already notify them, hope it will be OK.

Really, if we go report police, is there any possibility that we can catch the conman? Don't think so as the current online situation really make it hard for them.

If u go to report to the police. They jz record for it. They doesnt help u catch the conman except u got detail of the conman. Plus they r internet hacker, they had no idea how to catch them.

Avoid this kind of email, MAYBANK already informed their customer do not reply anything beaause they are not using email to reveal anything personal of your account.
Did u noticed that M2U ady improved their security features?

Yup, randomly I was asked my security questions for certain transfers.

That's why i think M2U is the most advance. before this im using cimbclicks then i switch to M2U and i hope im doing the right thing. Personally, i think with this new features it can reduce the fall into this phishing website anymore

true. i'm constantly reminded by Maybank not to fall for any email claiming to be them. wonder why there are still people get conned by this method

Playing with these I still do not know how does this phishing site works though. Transferring funds require TAC right? And TAC is send to our mobile phone number, how do they get our money?

Maybank will never send you email. In fact any other banks.

when u finish enter your TAC to that fake site.

I got plenty, maybank, cimb and etc, etc.

Just remember, ignore those emails. Anything you want to verify just call their customer service or , visit the nearest bank.
Mostly I'll just ignore those email. You will find it very funny www.maybank2u.com.my [Actual link] to www.maybank.com which is fake

some old folks or not computer literate users wont feel its funny site address like us.

this year (2011), i received around 5 or more phishing emails about maybank.

didnt fall for any of it. i even forwarded complaints to maybank regarding the phishing emails.

maybank have upgraded their security though. i wonder why scammers like to target maybank.

since there a lot of user that would easily panic upon reading/hearing "your akaun is compromised bla bla bla" thingy.

maybank is the largest bank in malaysia..
so hit rate will be higher...since everyone will have maybank

Many online bank nowadays got clone website. Just carefull n always see link address. for me,i bookmark the website so sure i go to the right link.

either by generating an email list then sending it to every single one or they simply grab an email list available at the internet and send it.

Fyi, Never respond to any email/sms from Banks/Telcos/Broadcasting Companies. They never communicate via email with their clients/users via these methods.

Most banks usually send/serve messages/notices via the messaging service in their respective online portals.

They are hoax emails and we have been also receiving some email from them lately. There are also many hoax emails supposedly from PayPal and other large courier companies such as FedEx and UPS.

Please do not respond/reply to these emails.

The best action would be to contact the relevant bank/telco or the other companies mentioned above to report these incidences. They will take the appropriate action against these unscrupulous parties.

not only for maybank user should be aware of this thing
other online banking user too should never ever reply any email from the bank
bank will only give u email for notification but action (eg: account update) only be carry out in their premises

My wife got a scam/phishing email which require her to update her Maybank account,
But..it looks very very fake lah.why she need to update her Maybank Account since she doesn't even have any account from Maybank.

just send the copy to respective bank...pandai2 laa diorang urus..
