I think the BX one can be used on golf courses to transport people.
On the road, I don't think it's safe at all.

The Viva Elite looks pretty good actually.

Correction: even useless car Viva 660 BX is overpriced. What do you expect?

That said though, I think I'll delay my buying of a car till next year when the Kia Forte is released. The Viva Elite midnight blue looks nice, but have to wait for customer reviews.

Whether it looks really as good as the brochure. And by introducing the facelift, whether they screwed up anything (increased kerb weight, etc).

Based on Tissue's post, elite is now
1000cc EZi RM44,900 (new bumper hood,with fog lamp and etc)
RM700 more than the current price 44,200.00 (metallic)

You're right. But still, a tad expensive for a 1.0L. RM1000 more and you can get base line 1.3L MyVi and 1.6L Persona.

You have a point.

By the way, is the Viva Elite only for EZi (automatic)?
Will the SXi (manual) also be getting an upgrade?
The price should be cheaper right...? Hopefully 41k...

I missed that. That IS weird. Maybe they want to encourage people to purchase the more expensive automatic version.

I think their main concern is the price. If all the models slashed by 5k, I think it'll be getting more praise. Also it's main competitor, the Saga BLM, a sedan, is cheaper. No doubt people will still buy MyVi/Viva, but there has been a lack of innovation on Perodua's part. All their cars so far are re-badges with minor exterior modifications. It wouldn't be so bad if the price was lower. Right now it just feels like they're trying to maximize profits only.

Proton overtakes Perodua in total sales

Now if only Proton would just fix all the QC issues and after service stuff, people wouldn't hesitate to buy their cars. Proton should also try to make an economical city car. All their cars now seem to be designed for gearheads who want speed and power. Savvy was a nice attempt at an fuel-economical car though.

So Perodua knows they're losing momentum. I'm glad they're aware of this, but still I find the pricing too high. But I think it's garnered interest because the Perodua website feels slower this morning. Probably getting more traffic.

But no point offering the cheapest car with almost no features.
No point in offering the cheapest automatic car if it doesn't feel safe to drive.
