For me, I'll most likely be needing the 32GB iPhone because I wanna throw in my whole music collection inside (~16GB) because I like to just shuffle all my tracks when I listen to music =P

And that's excluding videos, and also excluding pictures and videos taken with the iPhone (I take lots of pictures especially long videos).

Btw I wanna ask something, I'm a current value plus 80 user. When I book my iPhone with iValue 100, when will my plan change to iValue 100? When my iPhone arrives? or on the day i book itself?

nope at 0.5sen per kb, it is RM5 per MB =) but still of course, it is ridiculous to use pay per use for daily usage unless you are just checking mails.

On the (not) very bright side, the maximum cap for data usage is at RM250 so it wont go higher than that. Anyway I don't think any cellular 3G provider is giving unlimited data anymore, including DiGi and Celcom.

That's interesting to read. Are you sure there's a cap but also a max? Where can I find this info exactly? So this would mean that if I would utilize a full unlimited data acct, I would pay RM250 a month max? It's of course extremely expensive, but still...I remember times in the Netherlands where people had to pay thousands of euro's after exceeding their caps...lucky for me there those times were long gone already, too bad it's still being enforced over here..The thing is; it's says alot about the capacity..so much for 'a really really innovative network over here' smile.gif biggrin.gif....

At celcom website I cannot find any information about a max (cap) btw...perhaps I am not looking at the right places..?

Cheers!

Ilya

Yeap, RM250 per month max for full unlimited data account, that's what's written under Terms and Conditions no.3.

Maxis - iPhone 3GS

However it says there it is for iValue package so I'm not too sure if it applies for iData plans or not.

As far as I'm concerned most if not all Telcos here have a maximum cap on charges for data plans as Digi Edge under pay per use also has a maximum cap at RM200+. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

in gaming term...iphone 3GS vs iPod Touch which one better..how much MHz in iPod Touch proc n RAM..?
*
Comparing the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, the ipoh touch wins slightly because of the slightly faster processor. The games will run slightly faster but not too much difference in graphics.

But if you compare iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G, iphone 3gs wins hands down because the processor faster and there's double the RAM. More importantly in the long run, iPhone 3GS has support for OpenGL ES 2.0 while iPhone 3G and ipod touch onli has support for OpenGL ES 1.1.

In the future if developers make iPhone 3GS exclusive games there will be a big difference in graphics. However it is safe to say for the time being developers wont do that because there are still many ppl using iPhone 2G and 3G.

You can see the big graphics difference in this two videos:

Introducing Mad Monkeys Studio - an iPhone 3GS Exclusive Game Developer

iPhone 3G vs 3GS - Open GL ES Comparison

However it seems that Apple has just announced the iPod Touch 3G which has the same specs as the 3GS but i'm not too sure about this.

Here's the breakdown for specs:

iPhone - 412MHz ARM11, 128MB RAM, Open GL ES1.1
iPod Touch - 412MHz ARM11, 128MB RAM, Open GL ES1.1
iPhone 3G - 412MHz ARM11, 128MB RAM, Open GL ES1.1
iPod Touch 2G - 532MHz, 128MB RAM, Open GL ES1.1
iPhone 3GS - 600MHz ARM Cortex A8, 256 MB RAM, Open GL ES 2.0
iPod Touch 3G - 600MHz ARM Cortex A8, 256 MB RAM, Open GL ES 2.0 (unsure)

So as of now, the 3GS is better at gaming but it will probably be the same with Touch 3G smile.gif

Just ordered my iPhone today, here are the details:

Booked: 17 September
Model: iPhone 3GS 16GB Black
Outlet: Melaka Maxis Center, Mahkota Parade

The lady there told me the waiting time is 45 days now >.< new call from HQ telling them about it recently. So I guess i'll be waiting a long time haha.

Btw I was told if there was any changes to the iValue plans, we wont get affected. Meaning those using iPhone 3G iValue plans without the free SMS and MMS now wont have those free? and if next year they add more freebies we wont get it too? o.O

I guess what makes me really wanna buy the iPhone is because of the apps (and games hehe). That's what sets it apart from the others, not the hardware.

And I dun mind the wait, partly cos my pay isn't out yet xD and also partly cos Im gonna use it for the next 2 years, so wat is 30 days right?

I'd rather wait and get something really nice to use for a long time than be impatient n go with something that I wont be satisfied n then change after a few months =D

They discontinue one year plan already? Do you have the ID of the maxis staff who told you this?  hmm.gif
*
Nope I don't have the ID, doesn't seem to be written anywhere.

Cos when I was inquiring about iPhone she gave me a brochure for the ivalue plans and then cancelled out the 1 year contract part saying now onli got 2 years contract.

However I'm not so sure how accurate the information is cos the girl at the counter doesn't seem to know anything. I was asking about the free sms, mms and calls and she said its onli to friends and family numbers =.=

The iValue Plan included minutes, sms, mms and data is only for domestic consumption. Only applicable for use within Malaysia. Calls made within Malaysia to another number within Malaysia would be charged according to the domestic charges. If you call from Malaysia to an international line, different rates would apply. But it'll be deducted within your commitment fee.
Yeah I wanted to be sure about this commitment fees too cos if you still get RM100 of usage despite those free calls, free sms, free mms and free data, wouldn't that be a bit too much to get? o.O
