probably make it sound easier for u....

u r suppose to pay RM100, committed every month, regardless u use them or not
out of this 100, 50 is for standard phone operation, call/sms, etc
the remaining 50 is data, the data service used over network, e.g. surf net.
whether or not u used them all, u pay the 100. Rm50 does not limited to domestic, can be international call too, rate varies from plans.
u exceed it, pay the rate as stated in contract, tats all.
otherwise, at least 100/month for sure.
*
But in the plans it is said that u have 333 minutes of calls, 100 free sms and 10 free mms. So if it like what you said, it means that the free numbers are just an estimate? If you do less calls then you can have more sms?

Previously the plan did not include free sms and free mms so I dun think RM50 works like the normal value plus plan where u can do calls/sms/mms till u reach RM50.

Well the free sms and mms only applies for within Maxis numbers. Doing this for other networks will still implies the usual charges independent of your plan. After finishing these sms/mms quotas, you'll still be charged independent/add onto your monthly commitment. To put it simply for you, after using up these free sms/mms (only for Maxis numbers), you'll get charged separately as usual.

Doesn't mean you do less calls you can do more sms. Its separate. The RM50 division is only for 333 minutes. Also its a 30 second block. A call that takes 2 seconds or 28 seconds is considered 1 block. A call that takes 31 seconds will be 2 blocks (30 + 1 seconds). So that 333 minutes is merely an estimate. If your calls are short and sweet... the more inaccurate it'll be. If you make long calls like 1 hours plus, then yes.
*
Oh ok so it should work as what I originally thought. Meaning that international calls will be billed on top of your RM100 commitment right? And since free sms and mms only works within Maxis network, unless I don't msg outside of Maxis network, my monthly bill will most likely be more than RM100 right? (assuming my calls are within 333 minutes).

About the block, I haven't thought about it that way. I always thought of using the call log to keep track of my monthly calls but since its that way, to be safe your monthly calls have to be below 333 minutes right?

wanna ask something, i booked my iphone 32g using ivalue plan2 12months, paid the deposit 200, now they called me to collect it, i ask for the balance i should pay, they told me it's 2190.. and the deposit 200 as an advance that will be deducted from my phone bill...
i'm confuse now, i tot i just need to pay 1990 for it upon collection?
*
That deposit RM200 is for booking the phone, it will be deducted from ur actual amount that u pay when u collect the phone (RM2190 - 200 = RM1990)

However Maxis requires that you pay a prepayment of monthly phone bills depending on the package that you take. For iValue 2 at 12 months, the prepayment is RM200 so altogether when you collect the phone, you have to pay RM1990 + RM200 = RM2190 =)

check here under the small prints written prepayment of monthly fee:

http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/iphone3gs/rateplan1.asp

The prepayment will be credited equally over the first 5 months, meaning RM200 / 5 = RM40. So your first 5 months bill will be cheaper by RM40.

maxis3g too congested to be used, so most of the time websites go timed out.
just switch to edge/gprs. its faster than 3g.

Added on September 27, 2009, 1:12 amtook me hours of testing, rebooting etc etc.. plus a trip to maxis center to figure this out.
*
Is maxis 3G really that bad? blink.gif Cos I signed the contract for ivalue because of 3g, if I wanna use edge I might as well use Digi campus, RM30 per month for unlimited edge and very stable.

I wanted to buy the new iPhone 3GS ..
im currently maxis value 50 plan customer ..

1. Do i need to change to ivalue1 RM100 to get iphone ? or how ? or i can addone the iData plan to get it ?

2. is the easy payment only can use via credit card ??

3. whats the different between 3G n 3Gs ?
*
1. Yeap you don't have to get the ivalue plan, you can just get the iData to go with ur value plus smile.gif

2. Not sure about this tongue.gif

3. 3G is cheaper xD 3GS has a built in compass, video recording, 3.2MP camera with auto focus and macro shot, faster processor (from videos I see in youtube it's quite a lot faster) and better graphics. 3G's camera is 2MP and cannot do video recording (unelss you jailbreak it).

Guys I have a quick question, for the Iphone 3G, is there no more 16 gig sets available from Maxis, or has it only been 8 gig all the time. 8 gig is basically too little , for my cousin...sigh, anyone have any idea?
*
Apple has stopped production for 3G 16GB, so you're stuck with 8GB or a 2nd hand 16GB.
