Mine was opened by Maxis staff in front of me.

This is simply bcoz your free 500mb data is not activated yet. Anyway have you registered your SIM card for 3G? You need to register your hotlink line for 3g usage. You can't just expect you can use the 3g function by turning on the 3g button in your iphone. The free 500mb data is usually activated within a week or 2 from the date you got your iphone, depending on your luck.

It really depends on where you prebooked. Some ppl like me got it during launch day, some ppl din get anything on launch day. Some ppl got it now, some ppl still waiting. Just wait patiently while the stock is being transported around.
All I can say is i'm hearing less complaints from the 1st batch prebookers here about not getting their iphone. Majority have got theirs and are probably playing their brand new iphone now.

2nd batch prebookers, your time is probably just around the corner

I totally understand your frustration. If any shop sells their iphone stock to walk-in customer when they still have prebookers on their list, i dun understand the reason they do it since they still get the money in the end from prebookers. If they really do that, I can say it's not ethical watsoever. So my reason for them selling to walk-in customers is they don't have anyone on waiting list. Remember not every maxis centres are having pages of waiting list. Only places like klcc, mv, one u, well u get the idea. So you cannot blame them for selling to walk-in customers when they have extra stock. well u can blame maxis for not properly distributing the stock. But probably maxis has some terms whereby each store must b allocated by a minimum number of iphone. But who would have guessed some store has more than the others. All I can say is it's down to luck. No one would have imagined they would still have to wait till now even though they had made their bookings from maxis centre klcc where the main head quarter is located.

u can blame maxis all day long bcoz it was indeed their fault. Having said tat, u should have heeded their advice to wait. Remember no one asks u to constantly call and pay them visits. It's ur choice. Jeez, it's just a phone at the end of the day tat we r talking about. So much trouble and fuss?

Yea since that's the case, shall we wait for good news this week rather than complaining everyday for not getting phone calls.

I believe you can expect that to happen probably next month. I believe even after all prebookers have got their iphones, maxis would still open the iphone for only contract to attract as many postpaid customers as possible. Only after the demand has subsided, prepaid customers can look forward to walk-in purchase hopefully.

Yours are considered as last batch. End of the month would be optimistic, hello, you guys just booked a few days back and you expect it within 2 weeks?? How about the 1st and 2nd batch prebookers who still havent got theirs?

Well guys, as you can see Maxis is still trying to clear off 1st batch prebookers.
18th Aug was NEVER mentioned in any form of paper contract, it was told by a few of the shops. Now you understand that sometimes, giving a 'dunno' answer is better than giving a date for the hopefuls, so stop blaming ppl for telling you 'dunno' the next time you ask them for the 999th time when the stock will arrive.

The 2nd batch probably will start getting calls end of this week hopefully

Different shops have different priorities, and unfortunately i'm not working in one of those shops, so i cannot confirm.

Generally, batch one is those who prebooked till the launch date. Batch 2 is those after that. Not sure whether batch 3 exists. Like i said different shops have different priorities. make sure u check with them.

I believe it's selected for those who pay quite a big sum for their monthly post paid. They are wat Maxis called their valued customers. It's a way to acknowledge their contributions. If you think it's unfair, you can spend $$$ monthly and probably you are entitled for the RM500 also .

As we can all learn from the past, it's better to take this news with a pinch of salt.
It's good news nevertheless.

That is to say, only selected customers are entitled for this invitation. If you don't get any sms, you are not invited.

Hmm i dun think u can expect yours within this month. Many ppl who booked early Aug are still waiting patiently. Usually ppl have to wait for more than 2 weeks, no one can give u the answer when the next stock or next next stock will arrive. Of coz there are lucky ppl like wombat81 who can get the last one in the shop. The equation is easy, if you can buy on the spot, then u r lucky, if u r asked to prebook, then b prepared to wait for several weeks.

Everyone pays the same amount, so everyone should b treated the same way (well dont need to say that u havent received your iphone yet even though you were one of the earliest few, like i said many times, it's down to luck). Whether or not you are using iphone now anot, it does not matter.

Wat else do u expect them to say? Are you happy with 'not sure' answer? Imagine you are the guy answering 20 calls asking the same question everyday for the past few weeks you got to understand their feeling also, it's not the guy's fault u r not getting ur iphone...

wats the point hundreds of ppl call to maxis cs everyday asking the same thing. it is not as though maxis is not already aware of the problem. i'm not saying ppl shouldnt call to check, but wats the point of asking the question when you already know the answer.

i'm not sure where you read it since i always catch-up with the apple rumours but i havent came across tat. apple hasnt stopped the habit of releasing the new iphone every summer since they released 2g. it can b really a sure thing u can expect a new iphone in june/july every year.

Maxis iphone is unlocked, therefore you can use other telco sim card. You need to purchase the prepaid plan if you plan to stick to digi. currently, if you have read all the 60 pages of posts, you would have known tat maxis doesnt have enough stock for everyone. so not sure they will entertain prepaid buyers for now. you can always try but if you were to book now, very likely you'll have to wait, 2-4 weeks depending on availability in your area.
