Place: Padi Prada Restaurant
Location: Kota Kemuning
http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=3.0052861&lo...=18&l=0&m=b&v=8

Padi Prada is a penang homestyle restaurant. It serves Penang nyonya food. Its a small shoplot, maybe 10 - 12 tables max including the walkway.

I first tried this a few years back and it wasn't so good so now is second try.

Random Interior Shot. Cannot eat one.

Padi Prada Seafood Fried Rice. Looks bland but is tasty.
I like the onion pieces in there, it makes the fried rice so much more fragrant.

Salted Egg Prawn. Not wat I expected but taste was ok. Its a little spicy.

Garlic Fried Long Beans and Kiam Chye Ark Soup (Salted Veg Duck)

Duck Soup got mushroom, tomato too. Flavourful, mmm!

Inche Kabin. Fried Chicken, delicious and crunchy!

Pretty interesting eats in a kinda cosy setting inside.
Food taste is good.

This place is nice and airy, sitting here to eat Bah Kut Teh is damn shiok!
I like the decor. Got classic pictar of advert.
Meal was enjoice in a relax place, cooling.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The BKT i order is Klang Style. (Nui Kut + Pun Fei Sau, add Tau Pok)

There is also Dry style and Teochew style. Many add on are available too like mushrooms and golden needle etc.
Rice is either normal or Yam rice.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The place also serves dishes, "Mantis in Salad Sauce", "VInegar Porc Trotter" etc, I will cover in next makan during dinnertime.

Nice environment with decent BKT. Also serves a variety of other foods.

You are choosy then. There are quite a number of good food in KK, though its pricey

personally for me, the rating of the 3 main "big fried" restaurant (Hakka, Mei Qing, Fu Yuen) in KK that i go to, i would say
FY > MQ > Hakka

Hakka used to be better than MQ until the chef left. Now the food is terrible

Place: Little Master Kitchen Kota Kemuning
Wikimapia Link

Little Master Kitchen (Si Fu Zhai) is partly own by Yan Yan. Weekdays many items are RM2.90 so its really worth eating there. The setting is cosy and air conditioned. Got FREE WIFI! Nao I has 8megapixel Nokia N86 so pics should be much better than last time.

Menu items:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I was alone so I order the siu mai. Its pretty good mouth feel (not too soft/fatty).
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Then I eat the epic price Rm2.90 for 3 Char Siew Pau. Its smaller than the usual but still worth it!

I have eat Yan Yan for longest time. Now they branch out under new branding (partner wif my fren).
Nice setting for a weekday meal. For weekend prices go up back to RM3.XX

WIR = Yes (on a weekday)

that one breakfast and lunch got sell yong tau foo, Rm1 / pc , the liu is quite a lot (hakka style YTF).
the sos is fail tough.
so wat i do, i buy the chee cheong fun from hakka kopitiam opposite, then buy the liu from the yong tau foo there.

Specialise in seafood items like Fish Porridge, Steam Fish, Curry Fish Head, and a Choy Yuen Kai (Garden Chicken)

I ordered the Curry Fish Slices in Claypot (sorry no pic, we wolfed it down almost immediately - nice taste! RM25 for a portion that suit for 4 people, is quite reasonable.

I also ordere Choy Yuen Kai. Tastes good!

I notis other table order the steam sek pan fish, and most tables order the curry fish head, or the fish porridge.

Food taste is good. Potentially expensive since they promote their seafood items.

my girlfriend stays there so i usually eat around this place also.

theres this dimsum place in the front row of shops named little kitchen which i think is mentioned before. rm2.90 if you go on weekdays quite reasonable and the boss is very friendly. dim sum also tastes good and prepared fresh.

besides that, i go to tropical secret which is like a malay cafe which serve western and asian food. the price is quite reasonable and taste average. expected from a cafe.

lastly got a chinese shop next to tropical secret do tai chow... not bad but quite pricey (expected i guess) cant remember the name lol fei bao i think?

Place: Klang Tasusia Bak Kut Teh (Under Big Tree)
Location: Kota Kemuning

Wikimapia Link : Ta Shu Xia Bak Kut Teh

Best Bak Kut Teh in Kota Kemuning, Bukit Rimau and some say Berjaya Park. Apparently a branch of Klang Tasusia (Under Big Tree) BKT. Lets cut straight to the pics.
They give the Yau Char Kwai, and I ordered Yau Choy - Poh Li Sang Choy

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

By default there is Tau Pok, Fu Chuk, Button Mushrooms. This pot meat is Pun Fei Sau + Pai Kuat

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Good BKT. Airy shop and readily available hot water + tea. Worth going again wink.gif

WIR = Yes

my opinion is tasusia BKT in KK is not as good as the original 1 in Port Klang. Been having the port Klang 1 since young, because i stay there. All my colleagues also ban this shop even b4 i join my current co. So i went and taste it, not as good as the port Klang 1.

Just blogged:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&...r8-uEV-DXxNOB9w

Stimix, this should be worth a try. I remember in Muar we used to have some stalls selling this style also (+tomato sauce). But the opening hours are 9am-3pm? Gosh. And it look like they serve the red char siew, should be tasty!

Added on May 24, 2010, 10:07 amBut I can tell you southern cuisine (be it chinese or malay) is not very popular here in KL.

Hey Hey smile.gif

I stay at kota kemuning and well understand that there's limited dining places hahahaha...

Wanna share that there's a new dessert stall at Kota Kemuning. Selling 'Tong Sui' and Chee Cheong Fun.
Went to check it out, they sell variety of tong sui, menu change everyday like 'mak chuk', red bean, green bean, black lo mai, bubur cha cha. Their chee cheong fun also quite good.
Price also very reasonable.

Quite alot of people hang out there la. Go check it out biggrin.gif

It's located near old town, in front of the electrical shop and across the food court. The fatman steamboat also always park there one la.

If compare to our local dark sauce wan tan mee, it taste spicy and hot in this red sauce other that it very plain taste.

for the cost is more expensive compare to some store in Pontian, melaka etc...

Just try it. Not bad. Paid RM2.80 for Nasi Lemak + Fried Egg + Sambal + Sambal Belacan + Ikan Bilis + Timun.

I normally go for my favourite nasi lemak at the 2nd roundabout penjaja area. The sambal is nice too...it can banjir my rice.

I love this nasi lemak, nyonya style.

- Crunchy peanut
- Big crunchy ikan bilis
- Sambal is mix of normal sambal and a bit of sotong sambal
- Belachan on timun
- weekend got rendang beef

The mee siam and mee also is very tasty.

nihonkai is ok for me, eated few time. only issue is the sushi price too high and the chef kinda slow.
the unagi sushi is freaking rm9 a piece!

apart from that its ok for the area but i prefer to venture out to subang rakuzen/jyu raku for my japenis food

The food in kokoro bento is better than nihonkai. Its just that their portion is smaller and much lesser choice of food.

Do try on Brew and bread

and

Grandeur Gallery Cafe

actually when they are too busy i find that they burn the outside of the patty and slightly undercook the inside due to thick patty.

so actually if busy time better avoid it if can.

taste wise its quite good la there is chili/mayo/bbq sos
i usually order the Double Riang which is double patty RM13.

Yesterday I tried Uncle Yap char siew rice again

Char siew now more like poli-charsiew (similar to golden springs one)
Siu Yoke consider good, 3 layer pork and crispy skin
Roast chicken not bad also.

Its a little pricey when eating in group, so please specify how many portion you want it done for.
But then again most siew lap shop will tiok u when u eated in a group.

Pun Chun as in the 1 in Bidor?

Is it better than the original shop? I find that the shop in Bidor is just plain and over-hyped.

i tried twice. first time order the cabbage wif hei, and ribs with sos.
nice. but ribs very dry.

second time kena upcar until tears also cannot roll out.
the original style ribs is dry, overcook, salty.
the yam ring is bs small and not tasty de.
the potato leaf is old and hard to chew like those the pasar seller throw away at the end of the day type.

the charsiew very erratic de. but recent times i eated, its really hard and chewy and super lean/dry.

so to be safe i order chicken feet and mushrome is much safer.

I wented the other day for breakfast.

rm 7 for a illy cappuccino, ok la.

rm18 for this set where they give 2 poach egg on top of 2 slice (turkey) ham on bread
then top with hollandaise sos. on the side, 2 tiny slice of apple (Fresh Fruits) and 3 slices of potato and half a cherry tomato (Potato Salad)

not really value for money but then I duwan drive 35 mins to bangsar for my antipodean fix.

i tried the northland seafood porridge next to pao xiang bkt.

menu is very limited if you are rice eater.
there is many seafood dishes like fish, prawn.

the steam pompret is nice but not cheap.
the steam garoupa is ok also.
the special seafood porridge is interesting flavour, it is a bit like a flavoured teowchew porrdige.

also they are teochew so they serve a (simple) or nee (yam paste).

agree with this..overprice, food below average. but great for non-muslim who want to eat chinese style cooking

Burger Factory - was ok, price so so, the problem i had was the patty was pre-cooked.
