My 3gs, running ios 4.3.3 jailbroken. Mine battery status showing usage time = standy time. I hv switch off wifi, 3G, edge, location service, push notification, brightness 20% but one full charge only can last me 1.5day with only minor usage (only send few text msg). It nv happen until I upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3.3. Can someone help me in this matter?

Im in about the exact same situation as u, only that im still using 4.1 on my 3gs ... I was planning to upgrade to 4.3.3 but after some reviews i thought otherwise... I've done did all the tips from deflowerization and the battery life is good... But wonder if it'll be the same in 4.3.3 as it is in 4.1 ....

As to ur prob, if i do the same as u with all funtions off, i normally get about 2.5 days(nearly 1.5 year old 3GS) so maybe it really is because of 4.3.3

oh is it? but mine device was ok with 4.1 last time, even i switch on 3g,edge etc, hardcore surfing and play game like nobody business but the battery life was acceptable. Now the battery life in 4.3.3 is draining ridiculously.

Probably is the battery life cycle comes to an end...i also having such problems in ip4 but still acceptable. I do agree that iOS 4.2.1 save up way more battery

ios 4.2 is way better then 4.3 cos my friends need to charge when he is not using even 1 whole day @.@

I don't think there's any difference between iOS 4.2 or 4.3. Used both and works out pretty the same. Someone posted here (or in another topic) before on simple steps to maintain battery life. Things like switching off notifications, location services, WiFi, etc.

So far only things that really drain my battery life is playing the Games. Other than that it works pretty well and comparable to the Nokia E66 which I was using.

Lastly, just got myself a Portable battery when I was in UK. Cost me 42 pounds but provides 11,000 mAH (enough for 5 full charge on iPhone). Can also charge other stuff like PSP, and the volume size is like the iPhone and slightly heavier. Works pretty well for me so far (been using for a week and charging my iPhone with it). Guys...bout the usage and standbytime same this issue did u all install activator from cydia...i js remove the avtivator n the issue done...update me if can... Tqs

i did noticed that when i turn on the bluetooth.. the battery drains wayyyyyyy more fast.. im on 4.2.1

i unit is 3gs running 4.2.1. From 7am 100% battery then left 30% at 7pm. 3g on, push on, data on. Heavy user in whatsapp and facebook only.

of coz bro...if u let the bluetooth on ur device will always searching other device to pair with ur device..this can cause the battery drain faster...

Using the 3G on the iPhone is making phone battery do a drag race on me. I toned done on all the automatics and reverted them to manual. Now I get around 2 days without much fuss in a heartbeat.
I would play like crazy games like Meteor Blitz or Need for Speed Shift for hours on end, not mention the endless hours that would go by with me listening to The Cranberries and INXS.
It would be definitely be unjust to not say my usage is by no means limited to this, I take 100’s of photos every day and I should say … I do strain my phone with its use as a literal GPS tracker.
Well, What can say.. I just love my iphone..

now i found out another issue. My 3GS battery percentage can drop easily in a glimpse. For example the battery showing 90% when i was in a springboard, it can drop to 85% after i change the track from ipod. huh?? what is this man???

immediately drop around 5-10%

and there are people already saying there's a buggy code

in latest iOS that "enable" apps continue to work in background

got same problem as yours just now. i have no choice other than restore it back to the original iOS. Wont do jb at the moment.

try to go over general>restrictions>turn off PING...it works for me...much better battery life

May i know is your iphone is jailbreak? if yes, what jailbreak you use? I having a 3gs on ios 4.3.3 (sn0wbreeze) jailbreak and i don't face such problem, but my another 3gs 4.2.1 (greenp0ison) jailbreak giving me this problem which the usage time = standby time. So I tried alot of way to solve this problem and still not helping. End up only I know greenp0ison having a file which running itself during the phone in standby. So I restore my iphone and rejailbreak to sn0wbreeze. It solved my issue.

i jailbreak using redsnow rc16, i just downloaded rc18,dunno whether it can fix the problem or not. Btw how's yr battery life under snowbreeze?

heavy use in whatsapp and facebook with brightness half, 3g on, data on, notification on. work at 8am(full charged) till 6pm, it left 33%.
