Anybody here using a mains conditioner for their setup?

I was looking at the Tacima CS929, which seems quite affordable. About £39 (incl shipping). In Singapore selling for SGD100.

I'm using Belkin type (w/surge protector). Is this good enough?

• Filters EMI/RFI noise up to 65 dB reduction
• Maximum Spike Amperage of 75,000 Amps

Bought from ebay. At the time Futureshop has no Tacima in stock yet. The 2nd one I will order from Futureshop. Sincerely I've been using Tacima since day one so I never actually compare with and without. It is just a peace of mind for me knowing my equipment is protected from misbehave AC

I'm using the 7 sockets one, a little bit more expensive. Thinking of getting another one.

BELKIN FTW! I have one insurance RM10k and another black color RM25k. Come on lightning, try to strike my plasma and see!!

Tacima here. Less noise and the overall soundstaging seemingly clearer.

Maybe I should get Belkin instead for my 2nd one. Good idea with the insurance thingy. If I want a new TV then I just hook up the lightning pole to the Belkin

How they implement the insurance coverage?

Just call the hotline number provided on the box.

becareful when using belkin, there are term and conditions.
if you miss what the TnC, there gone your insurance.

What about Bada? Very cheap but look expensive. Can use both US n UK plug. Any good?

Of course there are terms and conditions. What on earth now that doesn't have T&C?

And Belkin's T&C is all about fairness to both parties, they'll pay you if it doesn't protect your equipment from lightning strike, but why would they give you RM25,000 if you purposely pour water on it?

If you want better solution, should get voltage regulator. Not those PC regulator but heavy duty version. I got a voltage regulator that can take 4kw of power for around RM 1k. You can see that the voltage fluctuation during morning and night as low as 230 v to 250 v during different load. With the regulator it can stabilize at 240v +- 3 v.

This brings me to a question about what to look for when it comes to our AC power.

I think the Tacima is to clean the power, as in removing EMI/RFI. Then another aspect u brought up is voltage stability. Anything else to look out for?

BTW, what model is your heavy duty regulator and where to get such a thing? I only know of the PC type.

I think the Tacima CS929 is just a block conditioner.
And it cannot stabilize voltage, right?

I believe it is make in bolehland. I get it from Watts Hifi Penang. There is a digital display that will show current voltage input and output, also total amp consume by your equipment. Also possible is high or low tolerance + switching freq. Belkin sure looks nice but overprice compare to US pricing.

what is the main conditioner used for? for better audio & video? any significant differences as compared to those normal & standard one?

U looking for normal power cable? I have 1 taken off my Onkyo AVR (replaced by white snake) if u r interested

get PS-Audio Duet or Quintet. You will feel the difference.

Not normal cable bro. I have a lot of that. I want specifically that QED one. It's does look like normal cable but well shielded.

Any great deals on conditioners/filter on AV show this year?
