meal worm say about 3-4 every 3-4 days. Hedgehogs are carnivorous so they do not actually eat fruits. But some hedgies do actually eat fruits. Mine just sniffs it and walks away. One way of getting fruits to the hedgie's system is but gutloading your mealworms with fruits prior to feeding it to the hedgehog.

u cannto trim too deep not like our nails...cos they got veins.. so look at the nails first jsut trim the end of it if u trim all the way to the toes, like how u trim ur own nails then sure bleed wan hehe that's the problem jit shiong... I cannot agak agak... if you were to turn their feet and see the amount of flesh that covers the nail, it covers most of it. So cutting the nails is really hard especially when you do not have a pair of steady hands like me... Hehehe... Is it possible to lace the running wheel with the sand paper? similar type whereby they use for suggies? |

QUOTE(ReBeLLioN @ Dec 15 2009, 09:50 AM) sometimes i also dunno is my hedgie toilet train or not.. bcuz got poo on toilet, n under wheel also... maybe the poo near wheel is been 'throw' by him when running, running n running until terberak inside wheel.. Normally I think hedgies berak when they run...same thing for my hedgie as well...so called toilet trained la...but on the wheel sure got berak one...aaron, Hedgie is quite a picky eater actually. Most probably, he/she is not familiar still with the surroundings. What did the previous owner feed him/her? Try getting the same type and mix a portion of RC to slowly change his/her diet. If not you can wait it out like what I did last time until the fella had no choice but to eat what I give. Too hungry de... Haha... |

QUOTE(samsoong @ Dec 16 2009, 02:22 AM) hehe... They are initially soft and dries up becoming hard. Similar to rat's poo. And yeah, they are OK under air-con. Mine is... Added on December 16, 2009, 2:23 amguys, just wanna confirm.... hedgehog poos are kinda soft in texture right? oh are they ok under air-cons too? Try not to put them under tooc old situations for a long period of time (a few days). They might hibernate... That's what I read anyway. |

naruto oh naruto... I know you just got your hedgehog ler...we are all here to learn. dun just go on advising people on things you are not sure of.
Added on December 17, 2009, 5:27 pm QUOTE(Getplaza @ Dec 17 2009, 03:39 PM) \Try scooping up a bit of bedding when yo wanna take the hedgehog out. this way, you won't get stung. Another reason is that, he/she is not used to your smell. Try putting your worn tshirt into the cage to get him used to your smell. This post has been edited by wookp: Dec 17 2009, 05:27 PM |

QUOTE(samsoong @ Dec 17 2009, 08:57 PM) Added on December 17, 2009, 8:59 pm so u're saying the bedding works like a layer, in that way there is no need to use glove or cloth? Added on December 17, 2009, 9:01 pm my hedgie's around 4months.. he sleeps alot & scratch himself quite alot too.. is i guess its more of quill changing? Added on December 17, 2009, 9:02 pmanyway guys, is it ok for my hedgie to run on the wheel for around 45 minutes? cause he does so... lol |
